The healing music has been especially composed to match the energy of each healing dance.
Wu Tao is based on the ancient principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and promotes the free flow of energy, called Qi, throughout the body. Through the synergy of movement and music, these dances allow for a clear flow of thoughts and emotions, bringing and maintaining peace and clarity.
The da
nces are gentle and uplifting, and all movements can be modified to suit the abilities of each body. I look forward to sharing the joy of Wu Tao with you. I first danced Wu Tao over 20 years ago when I lived in Western Australia and worked as a naturopath and massage therapist.
Wu Tao was created by Michelle Locke, and I danced with her in some of her very first classes on Tuesday nights at Floreat Surf Club, overlooking the beautiful Indian Ocean. Michelle's Tuesday night classes still run on the same day and time at the same venue, more than 20 years later! That's why we'll be dancing Wu Tao on Tuesday evenings at The Health Sanctuary.
As a child I danced most evenings after school, in all different styles, and did a lot of acrobatics. As an adult I've dropped the acrobatics but have embraced yoga, pilates and Wu Tao, continuing my love of any exercise I can do barefoot! Tai Chi, Qigong, karate... barefoot all the way.
My Wu Tao training has taken me to glorious retreats in Candidasa, Bali in 2019 and 2022. I'll be there again this year if things go to plan!
I look forward to bringing Wu Tao to The Health Sanctuary and sharing every freedom the dance offers with you.
