Karla Urizar is the amazing designer for PARTYING WITH MANSON. A set and costume designer for film, TV and theatre, Karla has just finished working at the designer and art director on THE REAL HOUSEWIVES OF SYDNEY (Season 3) soon to be aired on Binge.

Some of Karla's film set decoration credits include the feature film THE CORRESPONDENT, which opened the 2024 Adelaide Film Festival, THE LAST DAYS OF THE SPACE AGE now on Disney Plus and EROTIC STORIES which you can watch on SBS on demand. Costume designs include those for the feature film WE ARE STILL HERE, which is on Netflix.

Karla’s last theatre design work in Adelaide was in 2018, when she designed the set and costumes for Stephen Sewell’s WELCOME TO THE BRIGHT WORLD for the Adelaide Festival program, winning her Best Production Design from the Adelaide Theatre Guide “Curtain Call” Awards, and Best Design for a Live Performance from the APDG. Karla has recently been accredited as a Designer for Stage and Screen by the Australian Production Design Guild.

Helen O’Connor plays Susan Atkins, known as ‘the scariest’ of Manson’s devotees in PARTYING WITH MANSON.

Helen has appeared in one of everyone’s favourite Aussie series – from 80s classics FLYING DOCTORS, GP and A COUNTRY PRACTICE, to this century’s winners PACKED TO THE RAFTERS, CROWNIES and RAKE. She also has an impressive filmography including BABE, WRECK OF THE STINSON, the award-winning DR BOGLE AND MRS CHANDLER, TIL THERE WAS YOU, FRAUDS, SPIDER AND ROSE to name a few.

Helen has also trod the boards as a wide range of characters in plays including CATHOLIC SCHOOL GIRLS, THE CHILDREN, EUROPE, I HATE HAMLET and ANTIGONE.

As a playwright, Helen co-wrote the much-loved 60’s song and dance, gal-pal play LIPSTICK DREAMS with Simon Hopkinson, and the all-woman web series CHAN & DEE’S DRINK TANK with Claire Haywood, where she played the lead character, Dee, a talk-show host – and many of her guests!

PARTYING WITH MANSON is Helen’s second project with STEPHEN SEWELL; she appeared in his rich, provocative play THE LIVES OF EVE in 2023. Helen is also a wickedly funny cabaret performer, with an array of wigs that would put RuPaul’s collection to shame.

Atkins, called the “scariest of the Manson girls” by a former prosecutor, was a runaway teenage go-go dancer who fell for the manipulative charms of Charlie Manson and his Apocalyptic vision.
