Blue Ribbon Raceway

The Horsham Motor Sports Club held a very successful AGM on Wednesday night August 5th.

Reports were received from the President, Secretary, Treasurer and Track and Grounds team. These highlighted the seasons achievements, a steady hardworking membership, a financially profitable season and many improvements to our raceway.

We can announce that the 2026/27 Committee is as follows -

Nominations Secretary: Brett Johnstone
General Members: Shaun Queale, Jaryd Carman, Alex Miller, Belinda Taylor, Katelyn Eltze, Michelle Simpson.
Assistant General Member: Jack Mills

We give thanks to outgoing committee members, Dylan Simpson, Maxi Muller and James Robinson as they have been a vital part of our discussions and planning.

Also assigned on the night were the various other roles that make our club and raceway work, assistants, stewards, scrutineers, class driver reps, lap scorers, marshalls and coordinators.

👏 Well done to Speedway Australia and JQMV - Junior Quarter Midgets Victoria for their continued focus on delivering funding back into clubs where it makes a real difference.

These funds allow clubs to invest in upgrades that benefit everyone. We’ve already seen improvements at Mini Blue Ribbon Raceway, including:

🚧 Improved fencing
🌟 Continued improvements helping shape the future of speedway

We’re looking forward to another successful partnership with JQMV this season. They are an amazing group to work with, and we’re excited to continue building on that relationship.

Notice is given that the Horsham Motorsports Club will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM):
Wednesday 5th August 2026 at 7pm.
Location: Kalkee Football Club clubrooms.
This will be immediately followed by a Special General Meeting to appoint positions for the next season and set prices/fees.

As with most sporting clubs, the Horsham Motor Sports Club relies on its volunteers to keep the gates open and the Club active. We have a hard working volunteer base and would love to hear from members who would like to take on a role, as we are always needing more help. Feel welcome to reach out if you would like to know more about a position within the Club for next season.

- RIP Tania Walsh -
Yesterday we received the sad news on the passing of this fine speedway lady, someone who was always smiling and always helping others in life and sport.

Her family is a dedicated and hard working one; we hope they feel comforted at this time by their wider speedway family, as we all mourn the loss of this wonderful, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.

Condolences from all of us, past and present, at Horsham Motorsports Club.

The Walsh family have provided the following funeral details:

- Family and friends are warmly invited to celebrate Tania’s life on Friday, 10 July 2026.
1:00 PM.
Cobden Civic Hall.

Refreshments afterwards.

In honour of Tania, we kindly ask that you wear pink and purple, her favourite colours.

We look forward to celebrating her life together. -

Every sausage and drink purchased helps support our club and the ongoing improvements to Blue Ribbon Raceway, so we'd love to see plenty of familiar faces stop by.
