I’m Tanya Geyser, a ceramic artist creating textured, hand-built pieces and mixed-medium wall art.

After 35+ years as a hairdresser, I now focus fully on my ceramics and run mindfulness pottery workshops for women to slow down, create, and reconnect.

This piece challenged me more than I expected. 🤎

I started this domed, egg-shaped ceramic form twice, exploring different directions that just didn’t feel right. So I set it aside until I understood what it needed.

The final piece came together through a looping technique that travels around the ceramic form, using copper wire, handmade paper string, cordage, raffia and waxed thread.

The layers invite you to look closer — following the loops, textures and pathways to discover where they take you.

A tactile statement piece created to spark curiosity, exploration and conversation in the home.

Continuing to explore organic forms, raw textures and the beauty of layered colour.

This piece is all about embracing the unexpected — building up the surface with earthy tones, glaze and texture to create a weathered, almost ancient feel. I love how each layer adds another little detail, allowing the clay to evolve and reveal itself through the process.

Finished with a simple handmade bead detail on the handle, adding another touch of earthiness to the piece. 🤎

Exploring organic forms, textures and layers of colour to create this raw, weathered look.

I’ve added touches of eucalyptus-coloured glaze to this piece to bring a subtle shift in colour and change things up a little.

I love the way it settles into the texture, highlighting all the imperfections and giving the surface an earthy, aged feel. 🌿🤍

A quiet exploration of texture, form and natural materials has bought this handcrafted Wall Art together 🌿

I combined my textured ceramics with palm inflorescences, philodendron sheaths, paper string and rattan, weaving and layering each element into the piece.

Made slowly and calmly, with no rush — layering, wrapping and weaving until it found its own rhythm. 🤎

This piece brings together a combination of different techniques and reflects some of the new practices I’ve been exploring through the Take Two Art Courses with Harriet Goodall

I’m really enjoying working with texture adding it too my ceramics and in the form of other mediums . I’m discovering how it can create movement, depth and interest within a piece. I love a soft, natural colour palette and the way it can draw you in, inviting you to look a little closer and discover the details.

I’m becoming more and more interested in the beauty of natural and found materials — their textures, imperfections and organic shapes — and how these elements can come together to create something unexpected. I’m excited to see where it leads. 🤎
