Our first stop on our way from Townsville to Cooktown was the Malanda Falls Caravan Park. This is a lovely park that is well maintained with friendly hosts. Just steps away from the Malanda Falls, I would highly recommend staying here.

Don't go to Atherton, stop here at the Malanda Falls Caravan Park. As it's in the valley, it's much cooler here than Atherton or Mareeba. Great price at $40 per night with a concrete pad where we are. Definitely come and stay here again.
