artworks, carvings, films and other arts, in our part of the world here in Oceania. Pasifika Indigenous Arts Alliance
Pasifika Indigenous Arts Alliance is an association set up in response to our desire to expose indigenous artworks from the Oceania part of the world. All of you who have lived and visited our indigenous countries would know how beautiful our artworks are. This is ranging from paintings, music, carvings and in more recent years film. One difficulties faced by the indigenous peoples outside of Australia is the difficulties in gaining exposure and sales outside their own countries. First Nations peoples both Aboriginal Australian and Torres Strait people share a bond, kinship and often heritage with the other indigenous peoples in the Pacific. They have had the fortune to be able to gain more exposure of their artworks by virtue of their proximity to the supports of the art world in Australia. In accordance with the customs of the First Nations indigenous peoples in this part of the world they look forward to working with their brothers and sisters to help raising their profile in the world of art. The artworks of indigenous peoples share an affinity with the land and natural surroundings. They have share a common bond and connection with their master our earth. Through their arts they continue to rejoice and honour Mother Earth of which we are all merely custodians for the duration of our lives, bound to honour and maintain its beauty for generations to come. Pasifika Indigenous Arts Alliance aims to be an alliance of our indigenous artists to continue to work with other indigenous artists, galleries and communities to share the insight and honouring of our mother earth with our arts. Thankyou for your support and we invite all of you to like our Facebook Pasifika Arts Alliance to be part of a growing alliance of indigenous arts lovers in our part of the world.

At just 17 years old, Kase has been performing for years locally in Solomon Islands but is now taking her music to the world, singing covers of global smash hits and releasing them online via Youtube.

"My inspiration came from listening to my older sister singing...in church... as well as watching [the television show] 'X Factor'," Cassandra Saliga, who goes by the stage name Kase, told Pacific Beat.

"I started trying out songs especially the RnB [and] soul type... and discovered that I can actually sing and through encouragement from my parents I started practicing songs."

Ms Saliga entered the local Solomon Islands singing competition 'Solo Icon' in 2017 and has since teamed up with the Inamauri Panpipers band to cover pop songs online including Dua Lipa's 'Don't Start Now'.

"When I first did the cover with that song, it was difficult at first but when I see her doing that style of her voice... I was so interested [in it]," she said.

The global COVID-19 pandemic has meant that a 2020 world tour for Kase, with the Inamauri Panpipers, was cancelled.

She will continue her singing this year, but also finishing high school is also a priority.

"I just want to concentrate on my education... after completing high school [and] university I should be writing songs... and singing," she said.
