SPRING IS COMING! An amazing exhibition of paintings and photographs by the very talented artists in GAG & TAG - the Glenmorgan and Toowoomba Art Groups.
If you haven't seen it already, do pop in to the Write Gallery at 126 Margaret St on the corner of Margaret and Hume Sts Toowoomba. Open 10-3 today, tomorrow and Thursday.
You have until 22nd August to check out this amazing exhibition.
We're packing it all away on 23rd. We'll be sad that it's over - we've loved welcoming all the many visitors to the gallery. 130 at our opening and so many people since then who've come to enjoy the beautiful artworks.
We had our August TAG Art Day in the gallery on Tuesday 13th where we all enjoyed painting in this light-filled and airy space.
Thanks to everyone who has visited and helped make this our very special exhibition for 2024! We've sold 22 artworks so far which is a great bonus...lots of red dots! But there are still plenty left to choose from if you want a special painting or photograph for your wall! Don't miss out!

Today is the day! GAG and TAG are thrilled! Their combined exhibition SPRING IS COMING opens at 2pm today!
The artwork looks fabulous and we're looking forward to welcoming everyone.
Today we revisit 4 artists...PRISCILLA MUNDELL, PAT HINZ, SHIREE WENHAM and ROB RAYMOND.
Priscilla joined the Miles & District Art Group many years ago when she lived near Condamine. She began painting with TAG after relocating to Toowoomba.
She finds hills a challenge to paint after years of painting the flat Condamine River country.
Pat is a long time member of the Miles Art Group and has been painting with GAG for some time. She is inspired by her surroundings - and the small things - a fallen leaf or the touch of colour as a ray of sunlight hits ancient rocks.
Shiree says: "I love the beauty of my surroundings, birds and trees often feature in my paintings. Through my paintings, I hope to open the eyes of others to the beauty all around us."
Rob was born in Brisbane where he trained as an art teacher and was lucky to have William Robinson and Betty Churcher as tutors.
He says: "I draw on my immediate environment for my subject matter...from ever-changing Downs landscapes to the ancient rock-strewn landscapes of the Granite Belt and the subtleties of the landscape on the escarpment in Toowoomba."
SPRING IS COMING is showing at the Write Gallery - the Lighthouse 126 Margaret St Toowoomba, Cnr Margaret and Hume Sts.
It will be opened by David Iliffe at 2pm today - Saturday 3 August, all welcome, refreshments available.
Showing 2-22 August.
Gallery OPEN Tues to Sun 10am - 3pm.
Monday CLOSED.

GAG and TAG can't wait! The official opening of our wonderful exhibition SPRING IS COMING is tomorrow. Details below.
Today we're showcasing artists ELAINE LYONS, MEGAN MCNICHOLL and JANE BRIDLE.
Elaine is a long time member of GAG. She mainly enjoys painting the natural surroundings seen during her trips throughout remote Australia and near her current home west of Bundaberg and likes capturing water reflections and the effects of sunlight in her landscapes. Megan is an amazing photographer and at the moment is also enjoying exploring the world of pastels. Jane has been a member of GAG since its beginnings and is also an enthusiastic member of TAG. She likes using acrylics and gets pleasure out of painting landscapes and still life subjects.
You'll see their paintings and photographs in the exhibition: SPRING IS COMING to be opened officially by the ABCs David Iliffe at 2pm this Saturday 3 August.
Showing today 2nd August until 22nd.
Gallery open Tuesday to Sunday 10-3. Closed Mondays.
