Thank you, 7 NEWS, for interviewing us about Breaking Breast! In the 1.27mins of news time there are 5 big errors we should probably clarify: Playwright and Director, Marianne Buchanan, didn't tour the world with a traveling drama group, just OZ and NZ. Marianne Buchanan is an arts teacher. Writing a play about Breast Cancer has not been her lifelong dream, the play was written 4 years ago to support her recovery after breast cancer treatment. No one in the production is a school student. Starlet Creative Industries hires a school hall to rehearse the production yet, the production is not affiliated with a school. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=795117568874761

"Breaking Breast, is all about loss, growth and reckless abandonment in pursuit of your dreams!"
‘I wasn’t prepared to be so affected by this story! It is incredible, raw and real and not what I was expecting at all!’ (Sean, 37)
Coming to The Empire’s Studio stage from July 18-20, Breaking Breast is a moving, evocative, original story about identity and family disconnection.
Written and directed by talented Toowoomba resident Marianne Buchanan, Breaking Breast is based on true events, taking the audience into the world of struggling single mum by day and avid performer by night, Mexa (played by Hannah Miegel).
Following Mexa’s mishaps and misadventures and her tense and tepid relationship with her frustrated and formidable mother June (played by Allana Noyes) as a cancer diagnosis forces both mother and daughter to live under the same roof, Breaking Breast explores how they must put aside their differences to weather the storm of this life-threatening illness.
Also Starring:
Amanda Duncan
Laura Lund
Hannah Miegel
Daniel Nwankwo
El Powell
Russell Reynolds
Nadine Reynolds
Mickayla Walker
Lighting/Sound & Dance Choreography: Clarike Bishop
This is a must-see!
