🎹 What a special afternoon in the Tongala Shire Hall.

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to the opening event of Keys to the Hall and helped bring the hall — and its grand piano — to life.

There was something pretty special about seeing the room filled again with live music, conversation and community.

A very special thank you to Tristan Lee for an incredible performance and for making the trip to Tongala to open the series. The response from the audience said it all.

We’d also like to thank Campaspe Shire Council for supporting the event through the Spark’s Grant program and helping make the series possible.

This was the first event in Keys to the Hall — and definitely not the last.

🎹 Tomorrow in Tongala

Keys to the Hall begins tomorrow at the Tongala Shire Hall with a live piano recital from international concert pianist Tristan Lee.

We’ve had a fantastic response leading into the event, and it’s shaping up to be a really special afternoon in the hall.

If you’ve been thinking about coming along, now’s the time to lock in your seat.

Tongala community — we need to get on the front foot.

Over in Kyabram, the Jaycee Park concept has finally been released after strong community pushback and persistence.

That didn’t happen by chance. It happened because people spoke up and kept at it.

We’ve got just as much reason to do the same here in Tongala.

We all know there are areas in our town that could be better for our kids and families:
• Potts Village Green
• Centennial Park
• Lions Park
• and others

Right now, there’s a consultation open for Kyabram.

So if you’re thinking “what about us?” — that’s exactly the point.

👉 Here’s what we can do instead:
• Reach out directly to our local councillors and let them know Tongala needs to be part of the conversation
• Get behind local community groups who are already advocating for better spaces
• Speak up, ask questions, and keep the conversation going

The reality is, if we stay quiet, nothing changes.

KyaKyabram Development Committeeows what can happen when a community pushes together.
Tongala can do the same — but it starts with people being willing to step forward.

If you’ve got ideas, concerns, or just want to see better for our town, now’s the time to get involved.

We are inviting the community to share feedback on the Draft Jaycee Park Play Space Concept Design.

This draft has been shaped by earlier community input, and now we want to know what you think. 👇

🎹 Why Keys to the Hall?

If you’ve ever walked into the Tongala Shire Hall, you’ve probably seen it…

That grand piano, sitting quietly off to the side.

For years, it’s been there — mostly untouched.

On May 2, that changes.

We’re opening the hall back up with live music, filling the room the way it was meant to be — with people, with sound, with something worth showing up for.

This series isn’t about big cities or big stages.
It’s about bringing something special right here to Tongala.

And this is just the beginning.

🎹 Meet the artist opening Keys to the Hall

International concert pianist Tristan Lee will be kicking off the series on May 2.

Born in Melbourne and now performing around the world, Tristan has played in some of the most respected venues across Australia and overseas — including London, Paris and Shanghai.

And now he’ll be right here in Tongala.

He’ll be performing works by Haydn, Schubert, Bach and Liszt in a full live recital at the Shire Hall.

It’s not something we get often in a town like ours — and that’s exactly why we’re bringing it here.

🎹 Yesterday we asked if you knew there was a grand piano in the Tongala Shire Hall…

Now we’re bringing it to life.

Introducing Keys to the Hall: Bringing Tongala’s Grand Piano to Life — a new community music series centred around our hall’s grand piano.

The season opener will be kicked off by international concert pianist Tristan Lee, performing live right here in Tongala.

With the first bye for the Tongala Football Netball Club, it’s the perfect chance to try something a little different — an afternoon of live piano featuring music by Haydn, Schubert, Bach and Liszt.
