Scenes are that rageful, and scenes that are quiet are both as fun and challenging.
Playing angry spiteful "Janice" from the tv series "Wanted" got me channnelling that no-holds-barred fury. While working a tentative post-coitous scene from "Mare of Easttown" got me embodying awkward uncertainty.
As an actor, I train to hone my skills of embodying states of being and bringing truth to scenes.

Playing the character 'Debbie' from the film "Knocked Up" in acting class . Being a comedic actor is a fun and skilled thing - leaning into your natural style whilst tuning with your scene partner, bouncing off pace and timing. Love it. So much fun.

I presented an excerpt of my show "Oshun" how at Showcase Victoria - the state arts market conference The Round in May with Adrian Hearn Suns of Mercury
It was a wonderful opportunity to channel the Yoruba goddess "Oshun" and give a taste of the show to venues and programmers across the state. I also got connect with lots of new and old friends in Victoria's arts and theatre industry and meet other artists.
Thanks to Adrian Hearn from Suns of Mercury who continues to journey with me in sharing this work, by playing the most incredibly aligned bata rhythms of each Orisha I embody in the work.
Thanks to Linda Catalano of Quiet Creative who helped me prepare for this important moment.

This gripping piece of action-adventure theatre weaves Afro-Caribbean ceremony, mysticism, West African dance and drumming into a rhythmic narrative inspired by the life of Jamaica’s warrior Nanny of the Maroons.

Coils and Combs was everything!!! What a glorious afternoon of crafting, sharing, art, eating, music, community and connection we co-created.
Jamaica Patwah Kitchen served delicious jerk chicken, rice n' peas, festival, chickpea stew, salad and their famous sweet potato pudding.
Kids were delighted by a fun afro-pick making and painting activity designed by Sandra Githinji
Tammy from JM Hair, Flora from the_well_fed_family and Zarah from Embrace Your Frizzique led a riveting workshop and discussion on Afro / Curly / Textured hair care.
Denise Chapman and Guido Andrade de Melo shared truth of their afro-hair lived experience through rhythmic spoken word. They were then joined by fashionista Gloria Chol as we segwayed into a panel discussion, moderated by Sandra Githinji on hair, art and identity.
Sound was provided by Zare Demus and Stick Mareebo and DJ Emperor Sativa played a litany of reggae and dancehall tunes.
Attendees were captivated by photos taken by Ella Benore Rowe and her collection of combs.
African masks and artefacts provided by Maleik Njoroge M adorned the space which Maleik curated exceptionally.
Throughout the event there were giveaways of hair products from Hawee's Homemade, Embrace Your Frizzique and The Well Fed Family pantry.
It was a wonderful vibing, family and community afternoon. Thank you to everyone that helped make it happen and everyone who attended.
