Q: Why isn’t our soundtrack to the fundraising musical available on streaming services anymore?
A: Because we only get $0.0003 per stream. That means we need 33,000 streams in order to make $1. And when we donate 50% of our profits (or 38% of our gross proceeds) to Australian Cancer Research Foundation it just ain’t worth it.
You can buy our soundtrack digitally at our website https://www.thesilkragsproject.com/shop. LET’S NOT DE-VALUE THE POWER OF MUSIC - and btw, we are 100% real and no AI creation 🎶❤️✔️

This World Cancer Awareness Day we want to remind people of how far we've come: Australia is on track to eliminate cervical cancer by 2035, thanks to the vaccine developed by Professor Ian Frazer and seed funded by ACRF. The World Health Organization is aiming for global eradication--and it is the first time eliminating any cancer has been within our reach.

While 2 in 5 Australians will face a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, and chances are someone you know and love will be affected, there is tremendous hope. Overall, cancer survival is increasing and it's all because of research. Thank you for supporting Australia's Cancer Research Foundation and helping to make the vision of a world without cancer a real possibility.

Australian Cancer Research Foundation (ACRF) is delighted to announce a new collaborative funding arrangement with National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF). Over the next 2 years, their support for the ACRF Centre for High-Risk Breast Cancer will enable a radiographer to make the best use of a cutting-edge MRI scanner which can detect early warning chemical changes in breast tissue years before cancer appears. This world-leading technology has the potential to act as a real-time risk predictor, helping identify exactly who may be susceptible and who may safely avoid preventive surgery or strong medication. The goal is to make this lifesaving early-detection system available across Australia and internationally.

We are excited about the impact of NBCF’s generous funding and are looking forward to witnessing how this initiative will drive significant advancements in breast cancer prevention, detection and treatment, ultimately improving the lives of those impacted by this devastating disease.

big, biG, bIG, BIG NEWS that Australian Cancer Research Foundation initially provided funded to….. this is why we are proud fundraisers for them 🥰

A new report shows Australia is on track to become the first country to eliminate cervical cancer by 2035.

The 2025 report, released this month, from the Centre for Research Excellence in Cervical Cancer Control confirms rates of cervical cancer among Australian women continue to fall.

In 2021, the national cervical cancer rate decreased to 6.3 per 100,000, compared to 6.6 per 100,000 in 2020.

However, for Indigenous women, the rate is higher at 11.7 per 100,000 in 2017-2021.

Furthermore, the proportion of people who are up-to-date with screening has now declined for the second consecutive year (2023 and 2024).

There are now more than 1 in 4 eligible women overdue for cervical screening.

“Australia’s early adoption of HPV vaccines for girls and young women and timely switch to cervical screening rather than Pap smears have us well on track to achieve elimination and save more lives,” says Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care Rebecca White in a media statement.

“But we must continue to improve equitable access to maintain rates of HPV vaccination and make sure everyone has access to cervical screening.”
