The In-between
Part 2

I traced small circles in the palm of his hand,
A quiet language,
Offering calm without demand.

Wildflowers breathed around us,
Dandelions drifting free,
Carrying the tune my heart
Was afraid to sing aloud to me.

I was sunlight, then the shadow that stays,
A cloud that follows even the brightest days.
There is darkness in me, heavy and wide,
And still he stood,
Forever at my side.

Lightning lives behind my eyes,
Thunder stitched into my chest.
An endless storm I didn’t choose,
Just learned to wear and call my best.
I waited for silence to finally come,
But silence fled—
It never stayed long.

So I found him here, in the in-between,
Balanced softly between waking and dream.
Where wildflowers swayed and dandelions sang,
He gave me stillness,
I loosened my grip on the pain that i clung.

I breathed in his quiet,
He rested in my calm,
And slowly, gently,
Our hearts learned the same psalm.

We lay folded in that half-lit seam,
Wrapped in the peace of a place unseen.
We stayed so still,
Time let us be

Until we turned to stone

Together forever.
Forever home.

The In-between
Part 1

I felt her fingers against the palm of my hand,
Drawing small circles,
Offering calm without demand.

Surrounded by wildflowers and dandelions at play,
We drifted on melodies our hearts dared to say.

She was sunshine, then clouded somehow,
Darkness made full—
To her, forever bound now.

Lightning cracked and the thunder roared,
From deep within her, an endless storm poured.
Born of the chaos inside her head,
She waited for silence,
But silence was dead.

So she met me here in the in-between,
Halfway between waking and dream.
Where wildflowers danced and dandelions sung,
She breathed in my silence, I borrowed her calm,
Slowly, surely, our hearts became one.

We lay in the fold between waking and dream,
Basking in peace of this place unseen.
We stayed there still
Till our bodies turned stone.

Together forever,
Forever home
