The latest collaborative aquascape with Darcy . This might be the craziest aquascape we've ever created for a client and it was so much fun to make. Darcy found a massive piece of goldvine driftwood months ago and knew straightaway that it had to be used as a focal point in this aquarium even if it meant that we had to mount it above the aquarium because it didn't fit 😆. We're looking forward to filling, planting and bringing this aquarium to life in the coming weeks and months.

Collaborative aquascape with the talented Darcy for a client project.

This one pushed us creatively because of the tall and narrow dimensions that could’ve easily felt cramped or overworked. We went with a triangular composition to really lean into the height, giving the scape structure and flow while keeping it clean and intentional.

Challenging dimensions, but lots of fun to work on.

So occasionally I'll feed my shrimp in my planted bowl aquariums cooked rice just as a snack. Just a small amount that they can consume within a couple of hours.

Their normal weekly diet is more balanced and consists of specialised shrimp foods such as Tropical Shrimp Sticks, Shrimp Snow and Algae Wafers. In addition to that I also feed flake foods, blanched vegetables and mulberry leaves and stinging nettle when they're in season.

My beginner friendly strawberry aquarium setup video. In this system, I'll be harnessing the symbiotic relationship between fish that produce waste (nutrients) and plants that absorb the nutrients for growth and in turn filter the water. With an added bonus of growing strawberries.

Similar to the herbs in my patio pond, it's so nice to be produce some edible food from my aquariums.

The setup follows the Walstad approach and uses organic potting mix capped with sand as the substrate.

Over the next couple of weeks, I'm planning to add a DIY lid to prevent the strawberries from growing into the water. And after 4 weeks once the aquarium is cycled I should be able to add fish safely into the aquarium.
