I went to see "Brett Whiteley Inside the Studio" at Orange Regional Gallery. Fabulous exhibition with lots of drawings and sculptures I have never seen previously. I especially loved the display of his sketch books and images from his studio. So worth a visit, but allow plenty of time as there are 2 films about him which give fascinating insight. My favourite quote from Brett " painting is a battle between what it look like and what it means. Form vs content".

Upcoming Life Drawing Classes in May. Tuesdays 13th and 27th at Millthorpe School of Arts in NSW. From 6.30 to 8.30pm. I am trying out Tuesday evenings and to see what the demand is. These classes are suitable for absolute beginners or experienced artists. We focus on developing observational skills to improve our drawing. I bring a range of materials for people to try out and encourage everyone to draw BIG and have some sketching paper available to buy at cost. Our model is fabulous and provides a lovely subject to work from. Cost is $40 and booking is essential as I keep the classes small.

Introducing Carlotta, by artist William English. She is currently in the gallery at Millthorpe School of Arts. She has been created out of tip finds and made without welding. She has a heart, internal pipe work and an empty goblet. A wine drinker like myself. But she is not a great conversationalist.
