A little bit of Russian love on a foreign land.
I did my Bachelors in Russia from 2018 to 2023.I have seen both the COVID Russian period and the war-torn Russian.I studied in Russian language with Russian Government Scholarships and with my dear fond and passion for languages,I eloquently spoke in Russian and mastered it quite quickly and was always praised for this plus on and off-campus.I was also an active member of my university 's international singing troupe as the lead female vocalist, singing Russian songs.
I am now in Australia- a totally different country, continent and an island far from Russia.Picking up my English language skills from where I isolated it completely in 2017 after my college in Malaysia and reusing the English language stock in my head back from my school where I completed my Cambridge O Levels in 2016 to use it everyday in Australia,Russian language still remains in the echoes of my heart and thoughts.
Just like how you suddenly feel love in your heart, a sudden English word reminds me of its Russian version and even in my subconscious mind, I recall the bitter-sweet memories associated with my life's journey in Russian.
With all the tech world's free music subscription channels,I can always balance and explore my love for Russian,English or Bengali whenever I want, just like a teenager exploring love in relationship as if for the first time.
Among all Russian songs, this is my favorite,Feduk's 'Snowflakes in the sky' which also talks about the remnants of old love fondly in a new love and makes me still hope to fulfill my love-filled dreams in this harsh, practical world. The world that became even harsher after I lost the first person who taught me to love languages,my Baba.
2 years in Australia just passed by and with the new challenges of study with work,I somehow managed to scramble myself up on stage at my university 's autumn festival 2026 for the first time when it is in fact the last session of my Masters life. And I could not think of any other song other than Feduk's ' Snowflakes' to always remember this evening on campus at my university finally.❤️
