We’re hiring: Venue & Technical Manager 🎭

ATYP is looking for a hands-on Venue & Technical Manager to lead our Walsh Bay home, from technical systems and safety to venue hire and bookings. If you love making great venues run smoothly and want to support the next generation of storytellers, this one’s for you.

📍 Pier 2/3, Walsh Bay Arts Precinct
💼 Full-time, 12-month contract
💰 $70,000–$80,000 p.a.

And they've arrived!

20 young and emerging playwrights from across Australia have arrived at with the brief to wright an 8 minute play for 14-17 year olds in just four days. Only possible with mentorship from some of our leading playwrights and dramaturgs, , , & .

We wish them a fantastic week, and can't wait to see the results in next year's Intersection Festival!

Our fabulous Fresh Ink participants have just completed their half-year readings in Sydney, Perth and Darwin!

It has been so rewarding to see these writers, actors and directors develop these works with the help of industry mentors. We can't wait to see their final plays at the end of the year!

Introducing our National Studio participants for 2026!✨

From July 20-24, twenty emerging playwrights from across Australia will travel to Bundanon for a week of masterclasses, mentorship and playwriting with award-winning playwrights Tasnim Hossain, Lewis Treston and Hilary Bell. They will leave having created twenty new plays for young Australians, some of which will be performed at our Intersection Festival in 2027.

Unfortunately, Gretel Vella can no longer attend as a mentor; however, we are thrilled to announce that our third mentor will now be the fabulous Hilary Bell. You may know Hilary from such works as ‘Wolf Lullaby’, ‘Splinter’ and ‘Picnic at Hanging Rock: The Musical’.
