/// So back in April somethin popped up on the interweb feed machine and our heads had to do a double take. DMs with comments like “Yo who is that doin Beastie Boys covers at someone’s garage sale?” then it’s “Yo is that Mike D?” “Fo real?” “Nah it can’t be”. Yo is the internet just one big Psyops where we all fall into layed out traps so we can yap about it and be stuck on a continuous loop which is the internet? or is this just one of those cool moments where nothing needs explaining? Maybe it’s best to just go with the latter, because goddamn! that really was the one and only aka 1 part of the three legendary members of (rest in power MCA! 🕊️) cold chillin somewhere in LA live jammin with his hombres! What ever he was tryin to do on that stag has since lit a fire and most of you probably know by now that MIKE M***A FU**IN D IS BACK! and you know what? As sh*te as the world is right now it’s good to know that some things can return to bring back the good vibes to the planet. Because man we all needed a LEGEND back in this shiiiit to give us all some hope and direction. Especially right here and now. “REAL LIFE IS STRANGER THAN FICTION, MAN” MIKE D. /// Bro! We have been in many a mosh, have almost died in a few, but nothing prepared anyone for the energy that would arrive that Saturday night at Qudos Bank Arena in Sydney in May.

To explain the entrance Deftones made on this night, even the iPhone 17 could not capture it. As soon as the lights went dark people started screaming, but what followed felt otherworldly. When the beat dropped and their cult song DRIVE rumbled thru the air, everyone’s brains turned to mush. What was happening on stage seemed to trick the human eye, while the backdrop was slowly turning, it felt like a kind of space ship effect / like you were being carried through outer space, but not in that Las Vegas sphere kinda way. It had something to do with the colours and the big ear to ear happy vibes which was completely unexpected for a Deftones show. whatever voodoo they set up for this show, man it did the trick.

From there on the gig was just humming, but that first song jump off will go down as one of the most hyped openings for a show ever. You had to be there!

Highlights? Chino was the master of ceremonies. This man was moving around like a fever dream possessed. he was sprinkling that positive dust around from left to right and he never stopped buzzing around. Almost MJ like. And Abe’s drums were timeless, heavy and tight. Solid as a rock! if you wanna be a heavy groove drummer, check his style as a starting point for inspiration. It was perfection! And the backdrop imagery was next level. All Artistry and nothing felt fake or over over cooked. Just tasty waves of colour and emotion.

Sometimes you can be a successful band and you just play the hits, but sometimes you continue to hone your craft and still have the ability to keep changing. Not many bands get blessed this way.

Deftones have truly arrived to a special place and may they go forth and conquer this new wave to the ends of the world and back. THIS SHOW WAS TOP OF THE FU**IN POPS YO! Still picking up our collective jaws. Epic lineup with Interpol and our faves Ecca Vandal GIG OF THE YEAR SO FAR!

/// no matter what you think or say or whether you like music or not, just know this IS THAT FU**IN BAND. It was cool that they opened for only from the stand point of appreciating that it’s epic for them to visit us even it was a check in on a friend kinda gig. Putting two titans together can be alot, but all lovers of music were here for it tonight.

This band has the ability to create new worlds when they get on stage. just seeing them as a human presence tonight was enough. a lovely feeling of ‘we are so lucky that these guys came to visit us’ was felt across tonight. Interpol do something that not many bands can do and that is make time stand still. Of course their set was way too short, but that’s life bro. this is a band you kinda don’t want to film so you can take it all in, but we accidentally did. sorry there wasn’t more. we hope that they come back for another visit down the line. LISTEN TO INTERPOL. 👂🎵

/// On a rainy Sydney day, Sunday 3 August over 300,000 people crossed the Sydney Harbour Bridge in solidarity with Gaza. The march was opposed by the NSW Government who had their case against the march throw out in the courts. This video shows the true extent of the numbers which at the time were played down by the media. The March for Gaza was the largest Anti-War march in Australian History.

On Monday 9 February 2026 people from Sydney alongside thousands of Australians all across the country will be marching in solidarity with Palestinians of Gaza and the West Bank to reject the bad taste invitation to President of Israel by our Prime minister to visit the Jewish community who were affected by the Terrorist attack in Bondi beach on December 14 2025 where 15 Australians lost their lives. 💔🕊️ But to invite someone who presided over the murder of 71,000 Palestinians in Gaza? history will tell the story of where our PM stood when Australians pleaded with him to reverse his invitation to this war criminal.

We will be marching peacefully at Sydney Town Hall from 5.30pm on Monday with whom ever chooses to stand with us. come and raise your voice for the people, mothers, fathers and children of Gaza!

sadly the NSW Premier is threatening to create unnecessary pandemonium with reports that a large contingent of Police will be in attendance. So if you’re attending, know your rights, but please stay safe.

On this day in 1992, Paul Keating did something no Prime Minister had ever done before. He acknowledged the dispossession of Indigenous Australians by European settlers.

It was a landmark moment of truth telling, one that put reconciliation on the national agenda and moved our nation forward.

Right now Australia needs real leadership. We can’t just rely solely on our Politicians to do everything for us anymore. We all need to stand up and show leadership wherever you are. Hope this speech will inspire people to use your voices, your music, your art to stand up for Aboriginal rights, human rights, stand up for our communities and the environment. Together we can all create a better world today and tomorrow for all. X

Hello Friends, Hope y’all had a relaxing weekend. As you all know we had the LEGENDS Fundraiser a week back for our beloved mates & TexasDave McGarry at Moruya . It was an amazing night, the South Coast community came out in support and all the bands rocked! So we thank everyone who got on board. You’re all legends!

So we still have one last part of the Fundraiser we need to finalise and that is to find a new owner for this last crazy prize. This amazing .sticks surfboard (plus fins, leg rope and board cover) valued at $1200 is still at the Hotel, so we thought that we should make it available as a final raffle to support our mates Drew and Texas Dave.

So if you’re feeling lucky then enter our Online Raffle. We’re gonna spread this out to anyone out there in Fazbook Land who wants to simply donate to a good cause and go into the chance to win this pretty cool prize. ***Only thing is if you win it you’re gonna have to get to Moruya or organise for one of your South Coast friends to pick it up for you.
