MEET THE CREATIVE TEAM // KELLY ROSS

Set Designer

Spatial designer and artist Kelly Ross joins ECHOFORM as Set Designer.

Kelly is the founder and principal of a Sydney-based design studio, creating conceptually led, bespoke worlds across spatial design, immersive environments, material exploration and storytelling.

For ECHOFORM, Kelly has helped shape the physical world, exploring liminal space, transformation and the tension between darkness and emergence.

Her approach allows the environment to become an extension of the performers themselves, with set, costume and choreography increasingly informing one another as the work has evolved.

Art Director + Costume Designer

Multidisciplinary creative director and artist Rodina Tabnak joins ECHOFORM as Art Director and Costume Designer.

Rodina has helped shape and elevate the visual language and curation of the ECHOFORM world.

Her approach to costume moves beyond what is worn on the body, exploring character, materiality and form to create something feminine, powerful, eerie and slightly editorial.

As the work has evolved, this collaboration has opened up an entirely new visual realm for ECHOFORM with costume, choreography and environment increasingly informing one another.

A glimpse inside the making of

What began as a raw, visceral club solo has been pulled apart, expanded and rebuilt into a full-length work, moving through choreography, concept, experimentation and now into an entirely new visual world.

As new collaborators have entered the process, the work has continued to shift in exciting ways.

began as a seed idea as a solo performance for a rave and has since grown into a new immersive world.

Over the past few months, that seed has been pulled apart, rebuilt and transformed- through a conceptual and aesthetic evolution and new creative collaboration behind the scenes.

The world we’re creating now looks very different from where we began.

Over the next few weeks, we’ll be revealing that evolution- the process, the people and the new visual world has become.

Twisted Element’s latest immersive dance theatre work.
Set in a warehouse in Marrickville, is a descent into darkness, rupture, chaos and female rage; a shared subconscious where two fragmented selves negotiate what it means to exist.
Through visceral movement, ritual, sound and visual design, audiences are invited beyond the traditional theatre experience and into an intimate, unsettling and hypnotic underground world.

The venue is BYO. Come early, bring a bottle, settle into the courtyard and connect with friends before stepping inside ECHOFORM.
