Mark Dynamix mentioned in the Special Thanks of the latest Nik Kershaw box set after assisting with mix location and offering up some rare promo-only recordings Mark owned for inclusion in the set. Lovely when an artist and record company reach out to uber fans for compilation assistance ❤️

Mark Dynamix is one of Australia’s most established electronic DJs, with a career spanning three and a half decades and a long-running association with Ministry of Sound, where he tours extensively and spent a period as Head Label Manager of the recordings brand locally. His approach to track selection is shaped by the formative years of dance music with a clear UK and European influence; also defined by a tendency to favour - the hybrid over the absolute - the records that sit BETWEEN the genres rather than squarely within them. As the driving force behind Electronique, now in its 9th year, he returns to Lucky Cat, Sydney this Saturday for “One Hit Wonders: rediscovered”, a tightly curated run through 80s one-offs, leftfield hits and nearly-forgotten chart moments. It’s delivered from the perspective of someone who’s built a night around the crossover, focusing on tracks that bridged between the underground and the mainstream; with a level of depth well beyond the standard 80s night playbook.

DJ Greg Taylor, aka DJ Kiwi, has been immersed in dance music since the mid 90s, first discovering house before tracing its roots back through disco and into the 80s. Over time, that reverse chronological journey has shaped a style that blends classic 80s selections with a modern edge, reworking familiar tracks with updated energy for today’s dancefloors. This Saturday at Lucky Cat, Sydney, Kiwi brings that approach to Electronique “One Hit Wonders: Rediscovered” revisiting the 80s catalogue with a fresh perspective; lifting the tempo and driving the floor through the final two hour stretch with recharged classics and reimagined cuts.
