Joseph Malak art explores the beauty of masculine-presenting men in moments of vulnerability, tenderness and q***r love. All his art has vibrant colours and flowing lines that reflect joy, freedom and pride.
1 ) Ride Bulls and Cute Cowboys - is a playful twist spin on the Wild West, embracing the cheeky double entendre behind its title. “As a gay man, I’ve always loved reclaiming hyper masculine imagery humour and camp. Growing up the cowboy was often presented as the ultimate symbol of rugged masculinity, but I found myself just as interested in the cowboy as i was the adventure. This piece celebrates q***r desire, confidence, and finding q***r desire, confidence, and finding joy in realigning classic Western iconography through a distinctly gay lens”
2) Part of your World - “This piece is a playful twist on the fairytale of the Little Mermaid. As a young gay boy, I often dreamed of experiencing the world of being a princess, free to embrace femininity without the expectations of traditional gender roles. This piece reimagines that childhood fantasy through a q***r lens, celebrating the joy of self- expression and the freedom to define my own identity. From the curly hair to the seashell earring, the small details make this one of my favourite pieces, blending nostalgia, identity, and home into a celebration of q***r expression.
