For Fabio Quartararo, Aragón was a weekend to forget. The Yamaha rider struggled with a lack of grip throughout Sunday, suffered multiple lock-ups and eventually finished last.
He explained how a series of mistakes turned an already difficult race into a frustrating one:
🗣️ “The start wasn’t the best, but it wasn’t the worst either. I overtook Marini, who had caught up to me on the first lap, then I think it was Binder and Bastianini. But on the straight, Marini and Binder overtook me. I was in their slipstream, the braking point came sooner than I expected, my rear locked up, and I went wide.”
The problems continued later in the race, with another lock-up forcing him off the racing line and costing even more time.
🗣️ “Later, behind Toprak, my front locked up at turn seven, and I went wide once again, losing more seconds. In the end, everything locked up, and I ended up in the gravel. I did a lap that was fifteen seconds slower.”
Despite the poor result, Quartararo believes the track itself wasn't the main issue. The bigger problem was the lack of grip from the Yamaha.
🗣️ “We lacked grip everywhere, but, for me, the track conditions weren’t that bad.”
The Frenchman made it clear that his patience is wearing thin. After repeatedly trying different solutions every weekend, he now wants a more focused approach from Yamaha.
🗣️ “I knew it would be a difficult weekend. There’s nothing positive to take away from this one. I’ll try to figure out what happened, but I’ve stopped testing a hundred different things every weekend.”
