Imagine buying a dance studio for $10,000… and one day having over 1,000 dancers walking through your doors. 🤯

Sounds like a pretty incredible business journey, right?

Well, meet Katrina from TAPA - Townsville Academy of Performing Arts

Back in 1999, Katrina took over a studio with around 50 students, a young family at home and some BIG dreams.

Then something pretty wild happened.

One good old-fashioned flyer drop took her enrolments from around 50 to almost 500 in a matter of weeks. YES, WEEKS! 😂

Can you even imagine?!

But here’s what we love most about Katrina’s story.

It’s not the numbers. It’s not the growth. And it’s definitely not some magic marketing formula.

It’s that she’s spent 27 years building a studio that reflects HER values, rather than chasing what everyone else is doing.

Her advice to other studio owners?

STAY IN YOUR OWN LANE. 🙌

And even with over 1,000 dancers, she’s still showing up, asking questions and learning from other studio owners.

Because no matter how successful your studio becomes, there’s always something new to learn.

Wellbeing, work and a little play… okay, a LOT of play. 🌴🥂

Day 2 of our SGC Fiji Retreat gave us space to check in with ourselves, work on our businesses and share ideas with people who understand studio life.

Then it was time to let our hair down. 💃

Because looking after the person behind the studio matters too. And so does having a bloody good time together. 🤍
