This Saturday, Kenny & Marsel are off to the CBAA awards for 2015, nominated for “Best New Program – Music”. No matter the outcome, this is one of the biggest thrills, wrapping up the best year of our lives to date. This is for everyone – every MC, vocalist, DJ, artist, guest, poet, contributor, fan, and everyone has ever raised a glass to the love of local hip-hop. You are the Sound Cartel.

Micks King & Wizla (MadHouse DJs & Blades Crew) – These boys trek it down from Newcastle on the reg, scratching it up on the 1s & 2s, jumping on the mike, freestyling and hosting, and linking up the talent up north with the gold right here in Sydney. Backing up the Sound Cartel, and inviting us to host their gigs at Hamilton Station Hotel, this has truly been a tale of two cities.
Ziggy – The mad mouth of Verbal Mechanics, kicking off nearly every live jam with skills that cannot be taugh The rhymes this bloke spits should be bottled and sold, and he sets a benchmark every week that makes damn sure the next dozen MCs backing him up bring out the A-game!
Laurina – The elegant voice behind “Pillow Talk”, the Sound Cartel’s weekly breakdown of everything to do with love, romace, and s*x!
Ash D – “The-Girl-Formerly-Known-As-Shy” came into Northside, curious about radio. Like the rest of the Sound Cartel, she fell in love with the mike from word go! Ash brings energy and good vibes to 99.3FM every Friday night, unleashing her gangster!
Big Hustle – SydCity’s reply to Nate Dogg (RIP), this big fella spits, sings, and strums on a level that needs to be heard to be believed.
DeadMike – The thrilla from the Fillas, trekking it in from the North-West Hillaz as a special guest presenter and MC, this is the man behind those blazing Sound Cartel jerseys. Big up son!
The CrazeCo – Solid support for the Sound Cartel since earlier in the year, these fellas sorted out our very own Sound Cartel flags.
allaussiehiphop.com – Shout out to this mob for supporting the scene and getting behind the Sound Cartel as much as possible!
Ran MC – The big homie, along with DJ Intense has been putting on shows across Sydney, including Valve Bar and Hustle & Flow, and have been sponsored by the Sound Cartel. These fellas have been regs on the SC, and shown nothing but dedication to the local hiphop nation.
Maggie (Stimulate Your Soul) – Solid networker and advocate of some solid names on the scene, including Livingstone & S**i Daha, bringing even more soul to the Cartel!
Francisco Pinero – The Venezuelan master, the king of Latin Jazz, this man was the mentor of the Sound Cartel in our early days. Check him out on Saturday nights from 6-8pm on 99.3fm!
Paulo Just – The manager of Northside Radio, a big fan and backer of the show, thank you for putting up with this weekly whirlwind we call the Sound Cartel!
