Day 5 of antique week! This one you may have seen before but it was too perfect not to share. It is also available for immediate purchase. A lot of preparation and thought went into the design. The centre stone is a 4.26ct aquamarine that i had custom cut to this one off shape. It was based of a old mine cut stone and the goal was to create a more modern interpretation. The aquamarine rough (pre cut) was from a small batch of Mozambique material that had a deep rich colour. The ring itself is made from platinum and is pierced, hand engraved and set with 1.77cts worth of small diamonds. The result is a mesmerising one of a kind statement piece that you won't see anywhere else.

Day #4 of antique week. This one is a showstopper! It had to be special it was a gift celebrating the birth of a child, the client wanted it to be a sophisticated statement piece using diamonds only. He trusted with the design, and this stunning Art deco style cocktail ring was the result. A timeless architectural piece with elevation changes and distinct borders not just a mess of diamonds but a super intentional design. The centre stone a 1.63ct fvs1 emerald cut is framed by a border of Princess cuts and halo of smaller diamonds with, of course the signature artdeco

Day #3 of antique week. This one is a solitaire with the main focus being this stunning Evs1 1.83ct antique cut moval diamond. In the second slide its unique cut is much more noticeable. Antique cuts often have less facets and unique proportions. in some cases even irregularities or asymmetries. I find this so appealing, it has a real charm and makes it feel as though its not brand new but established and will stand the test of time.it is also fun to add a little uniqueness to a common design setting yourself apart from other solitaires, it feels more thoughtful. The cut 'moval' on top of being a antique cut, comes from combining both marquise and oval cutting styles.

Day #2 of antique week. This one is a ripper! The centre stone 2.21ct step cut pear. Which is a very modern cut with flat sides unlike a traditional pear. It was fun making everything else vintage around that with milligrained edges and knuckles at the end of the channel setting. i think the contrast works really well and it doesnt at all look out of place. Sometimes, with some simple techniques, you can achieve a vintage look whilst still having modern proportions.

Made in 18ct yellow and platinum

Milligraing or mille-grain is a French term 'meaning a thousand grains'. This technique is done using a wheel with tiny cups that you roll along a sharp edge, creating tiny beads. The technique has been around for thousands of years but became very popular in the art deco period.

Swipe across for a close up> the first post for antique week. I just finished this large gents signet. It Features a JG monogram and on the sides are 2 landscapes that are really significant to the clients partner, the 3 sisters and Goverts leap. This was a gift to replace a lost wedding band, which im sure he will adore.

Signet rings have been around for thousands of years as a way nobles would seal and authenticate documents and in cases a show of high status, later becoming a family heirlooms that would be pased down to heirs.

Here it is! It was too perfect to not post for Easter. My new pendant is now available. It features a Pear shaped Aquamarine centre stone surrounded by yellow diamonds. Furthermore, framed by ombre padparadshca peach mismatching sapphires that have tiny amerthysts set into the outer claws. The loop has a custom cut opal that was done in-house and is half Peruvian pink opal and half Australian white opal. Below it is also a lavender/pink spinel. All of this perfectly matches the japenese silk kumihimo necklace. It is definitely one for the collectors out there, You just dont see something like this everyday and i think it would so perfectly suit the right person. What a fun piece and fun experience it was to make. I think that sentiment really translates through to the final outcome.

Two cute rings from last week. A little heirloom daisy cluster i remade to look how it might have done 100 years ago when it was new. The second ring is a split band, double baguette ring. A really simple but effective design. See my story for more pics.
