A warm welcome back to our members who are resuming lessons this week.

To celebrate the New Year we are happy to announce that we now have a relationship with Arobas Software and are part of the Guitar Pro educators program which provides discounts to our members. So if any of our intermediate-advanced students are interested in purchasing Guitar Pro (the gold standard in guitar notation software and something we use to produce some of our lessons) , then don't go ahead and pay the retail price of around $100 AUD. HAPPY CHRISTMAS!!

We would like to wish all our students+families, friends and followers a very happy Christmas and new year ahead.

2019 has been a year where (to quote Bill Lawry) "it's all happening" - from our move to Danaher Drive for many of our students , the new ukulele program for the wonderful residents at Arilla Retirement Village , licensing the G4 guitar curriculum and getting our app up and running without too many hitches.

We have enjoyed the continued support of existing students and met plenty of great new people (and families) during 2019.

Thanks again and we look forward to a great 2020 .

All students will be contacted directly over the next 24 hrs but ,in short , we take a break from 23rd December and resume lessons on Monday 6th January.

If anyone needs any assistance over the break , please send Brent a message through the app and we will help you out!

Tough week in the Aussie music scene with Greedy from Mental as Anything and Stuart Fraser from Noiseworks passing away. Both local legends but Stuart had a real influence on me as a young kid - not a technical player but he possessed something that is a big part of being a "great" and that is a unique sound/tone and sense of rhythm. That debut Noiseworks album to me had a real atmosphere and , despite some strong material on subsequent albums they never beat it IMHO. R.I.P.

General information

The Guitar Dojo welcomes students of all ages but has a particular passion for working with beginner to intermediate level guitarists that want to learn the guitar step-by-step via a fun but well structured plan. That way we can get things on the right path at an early stage. The absolute beginner will learn the basics and develop the ability to play simple songs but our end goal is to produce a guitarist that understands what they are playing and can improvise or even write their own songs. So music theory as it relates to the guitar becomes a more important part of the program over time. Our unique offering is not just about face to face lessons either. Each student has a dedicated web based portal where they can see lesson summaries, download or view handout material and answer relevant quiz questions. The portal also allows students and parents to ask Brent questions directly so that there is always support available between lessons.. Our Music Lab is a key part of each lesson , where students are exposed to gamified learning of music concepts such as pitch, rhythm and general ear training.

Our Teaching Philosophy

The Guitar Dojo is a specialist guitar school that prides itself on quality content and support. We love teaching and playing songs but also invest heavily in making sure that you have the right information and support to understand the instrument and one day hopefully create your own music. Each student at The Guitar Dojo receives complimentary hard copy materials , premium practice app subsciptions and a dedicated log in to our online app where their personal practice material is available for viewing and download. Brent will also respond directly to questions via the platform. No need to spend most of the next lesson talking about questions that have built up during the week!
