National Reconciliation Week | 27 May – 3 June

The theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026 is All In - a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.

We pause for National Reconciliation Week - held each year between the anniversary of the 1967 referendum and the 1992 Mabo decision. Both milestones hard won by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who had long fought for justice. Reconciliation begins with connection - with truth, with history, and with the cultures that have shaped this land for tens of thousands of years. Art has always been one of the most powerful ways to build that connection.

We reflect on that responsibility, and recommit to it.

Sorrento Contemporary stands on Bunurong Country. We acknowledge the Bunurong people as Traditional Owners of this land and pay our respects to Elders past and present.

Konstantina (Kate Constantine) is a proud Gadigal woman of the Eora Nation and a neo-contemporary Indigenous artist.

Her practice reimagines the traditions of her peoples’ dot painting, offering a contemporary narrative that invites deeper understanding of First Nations peoples as part of the fabric of Australia.
