Hi, it’s Skye here! I am the face behind Djarima Jiba Pepeny!
I am a Wergaia and Wemba Wemba koori and Mumma to 6 kids. I’m a Q***r, neurodivergent, bubbly but gentle human who puts my whole heart into the work I do. I love creating, being on Country and connecting with people I love
As a midwife of 18 years, being with families in the perinatal period has been a hearts calling of mine. Over time, the way I have been midwife has shifted and I focus on 2 key areas. One is for mob in the perinatal bereavement space after stillbirth, neonatal death, SIDS or babies forcibly removed from families. The other, which ties into the latter, is supporting Aboriginal families with complex trauma in the perinatal period via education to the people working in the health system. I created the nations first support guide for Aboriginal families following stillbirth and I am very proud to say it is now available in every single maternity hospital in Australia. I can’t do this work without the support from my Mum, my beautiful partner Vic, my community, my Nan, my Ancestors and my Country. They hold me in everything.
