Jeanette's Special Keepsakes

Jeanette's Special Keepsakes Personalised Mementos which are either or, Handmade, Embroidered, Embellished by Jeanette's Special Keepsakes There are no restriction on minimum orders.

I create and/or embellish quality embroidered keepsakes which can be personalised and/or individualised with your chosen design, name and/or wording. If possible I prefer to prewash the materials before I use it in my items. The reason for this is to test for shrinkage and/or colour fastness. Examples of my work are displayed in the gallery of my website as well as my page.

Good Evening Everyone. Apologies for not posting for so long. Recovery time is taking a little longer. As an aged pensioner I am no longer running a market stall. Of course if one of my lovely past customers ask me to create a special keepsake??? and I am able to do so, I will be happy to consider it.

I was asked to do some work from a lovely past customer and would like to share the photos. The Poodle design is from Embird and the Ribbon design is adapted from Emblibrary. I used Embird software to create and edit.

Happy New Year from me, Jeanette of Jeanetteโ€™s Special Keepsakes. 2018 hopefully, will be the year of recovery. I have decided that I have had enough of being ill as well as the steps necessary to deal with the Big C.

Needless to say I am very grateful for all of the medical and personal assistance I have received for this unexpected venture of mine.

This recovery is a slow process and I am reminded of an another birthday due in eight days time. With this in mind, I have decided to dispose of my embroidered dog stock. Even though all my work is wonderfully protected in storage, my husband is objecting to the room I am taking up in HIS garage.

I am not sure of the best way to go about selling my Dog Breed embroidered, hand towel sets, bags and Travel cup cones?

Ebay is an option? but it is hard work for very little profit. The time and effort in taking the photographs is enough to make anyone wilt. Perhaps there is a shop, vendor or club would like to make me an offer?

Below is a sample of my work. Of course as there are over 200 breeds of dogs, (which I have embroidered most of), it would take a lot of space on the FB page, I am only showing a sample.

If anyone is interested or have a suggestion, please message me and I will take more photos to send. Many thanks for taking the time to read this. Yours Jeanette ๐ŸŽ—๏ธ๐ŸŽ†๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽ‰๐ŸŽŠ

Many thanks for all kind messages of hope and well wishes for Christmas, which we appreciated very much. I had planned to do this before Christmas but again had another little stay in Hospital.

This last 6 months has been an interesting time with my health issues. Rodney and I can only express our gratitude for all of the messages of support and friendship. Hopefully by this time next year, the treatments for the cancer will be finished and we can resume our normal lives.

I can only say thank you to all the lovely people from the Gold Coast University Hospital and Robina Hospital, for the care they have shown towards me over the many times I have been in and out hospital.

Jeanette's Special Keepsakes

Due to my health issues I have had time to think regarding my market stall and stock. This has resulted in me pausing my ebay account, as I am unable to keep it up to date. Also, I have made the decision not to continue my clothing line and will rationalise my cap stock.

Family is very important at times like this and I very am grateful to my sisters who are coming down from Nt Qld, to visit and will help sort out my blank stock, The plan is to sell off all the clothing and non-embroidered caps at cost price.

My Brother PR650 multi needle is such a good work horse, but sadly it is the machine which I have decided to sell. As I have said to anyone who asks, once you have used a multi needle to embroider you will not go back to a single needle.

When I am able to resume work, I will focus on embroidered plain caps, handtowel sets, travel mugs and of course the bags which have been very popular. I do plan to continue the development of my bling arm bands and hope I will soon be well enough to fulfil the orders from last July.

My dear heart known as Rodney will assist with the selling of my existing range of dog breed embroidered mementos to anyone who is interested. Please just message me and with the help of MDH I will post.

Oncology Appointment

I feel very fortunate to have be assigned Dr Suzanne Allan MBBS FRACP Medical Oncologist (Cancer Specialist) and Michelle, the Cancer Care nurse, (Gold Coast University Hospital), to look after me on the next stage of my Breast Cancer illness.

The news is that the cancer is aggressive and invasive. No secondaries to be seen with the last scans. Not reactive to hormone treatment but yes to Chemyo, etc and to be followed up with radiation treatment. So..... fingers crossed, as we say when we are hoping for the best.

Bare Head Coverage

I have ordered many different scarves and plan to learn the skill of tying them in nice styles around my (soon to be), bare head in a stylish way.

Feeling Ill

All I can say is that I feel very sorry for MDH as he will be putting up with me whilst this is occurring.

My Craft

I hope to continue doing what I love but sadly I am lacking much inspiration at the moment. Again, many thanks for my customers understanding patience.

R & R

We are taking time out before this next stage, with a cruise up the Queensland coast. I am looking so forward to the fresh air and sunshine whilst looking at the water. Thank goodness I will not have to pack and unpack as one does when you are travelling. Maybe, we will be able to drive up to my home town, whilst we are parked in Cairns, who knows???

Friend's Well Wishes

Thank you for you kind thoughts and even though I may not respond as I should, I do appreciate the gift of friendship.

Yours Jeanette

Thank you everyone for your well wishes re: my recent health drama.

Feedback Appointment

with Robina Breast Clinic today where I was very impressed with the professional approach from the Breast Care Nurse. This lovely lady took the time and effort to explain in plain language what is happening to me, and for this I thank her and the organisation which encourages this.

Results

There were no surprises thank goodness .. as I was told that from all removed lymph nodes, the only cancer found was the original diagnosed breast and lymph node and the others tested clear. The recommendations are for chemo but I will know for sure next week.

Again, thank you for your support

PS

Ongoing work

I have not felt up to doing what I have been creating in my mind with the armbands, but hopefully my work room will see me soon. Thank you for your patience

Taking Dr Fred's fairy rose home

Home after my Pink Ribbon stay at Robina Hospital and sending thanks to all well wishers for my recovery.

Flowers from family and friends were lovely to receive, especially the fairy from Dr Fred and his lovely wife Margaret, who drove all the way from Brisbane to visit me in hospital.
Many Thanks also for my wonderful care from Robina Hospital Medical and Auxiliary Staff.

Sorry... there are no thanks to the kitchen for the food but disappointment with it's lack of initiative with dealing with my allergy to capsicum, intolerance to milk and wheat??

It appears their computer system only has the ability to take out what I cannot eat, but is unable to replace it something else?? The software does not appear to have the ability to flag my dietary problems to the dietitians, so they may intervene??

Protein offered on the last two days consisted of boiled eggs. Requests for salads written on the menu were ignored. The nutrition assistant came to see me as I was packing to come home, so I am following her advice and putting my concerns into writing with the hope that the next person in my situation will have better luck.

Armband design
- has been created with an adapted Emblibrary design. The embroidery design was stitched using http://www.echidnaclub.com.au/ Softlight Metalic thread.

Orders

I have taken some orders for different styles, and hope for more once the word gets out. Of course as my customers know, I do my best to design for their requirements.

Completed prizes, filled with sweets, (lollies in our Aussie language), and finished with the gift wrapping, all for $35.00 each

I used the larger travel mugs due to the size of the embroidery. Black satin was the base fabric. Echidna's Softlight Metallic Thread give such a lovely shimmer and of course, Maderia embroidery thread is always wonderful in the Embird dog designs. The wreath is from the Emblibrary collection and of course the text has been digitized by Jeanette's Special Keepsakes using Embird software.

I have just bought the hatched program and am still working my way through it. How I wish John deer was running a session soon, Hint, hint!!

A special thank you to the lovely people who commissioned me to create these prizes.

How to lose business!!

Shopping for fabric in Melbourne lead us to a recommend shop in Lygon St, Brunswick East VIC 3057. I must admit that www.sckafsfabrics.com.au/
Brisbane puts many fabric shops to shame and, especially in this case.

But how to lose Business and Good Will

My friend in a wheelchair, and I caught a taxi especially to this shop. Firstly we were disappointed to find it was not as large as we expected..., but never less, we rarely go into a fabric shop without buying something. Now, most of us ladies, (and gentleman), not in the first blush of youth sometimes have a need to use facilities close by??

Upon request to use such facilities, we were told very nicely by the young lady, that we could not use the shop's. We were directed down the road to the service station, on a day which was cold, windy and with some showers.

Again.... I requested access to the shop's facilities pointing out that we are not young ladies, but no was the answer. Needless to say we left without buying.

Thankfully, the service station was kind enough to allow access to their facilities.
