This Friday is week #1 of Pen and Splash, a fun activity of creating illustration like art out of a splash of watercolour and adding pen to make an image...
The idea is to use the ‘splash’ of watercolour, or you could use pencil or felt if you really prefer, to make the focal point and identify it through the pen as being so. So you ‘splash’ in the steam rising up from the then pen drawn cup to turn the steam into a journey. Get inspired by the images here and create as many as you desire in whatever sizes you prefer.

This Friday we start 2 weeks of doing houses in one-point perspective...
With one-point perspective objects that are further away appear smaller. If you draw an road towards the horizon, it becomes narrower and the trees become smaller.
In one-point perspective, you draw all lines parallel to the viewing direction towards a single point. You literally place a dot on the horizon.
Therefore I will be giving you paper with a circle and a dot at the centre. Using a ruler and a pencil very lightly draw houses and/or buildings in different widths - always with lines that ‘radiate’ from the edges towards the centre. There can be spaces too. Then draw roofs on the houses.
Draw windows and doors etc. with the same perspective - focusing on the middle. Draw in the sky....
