From the Murrurundi Life page.
The Murrurundi Parents & Citizens Association has just been given the green light from Upper Hunter Council to go ahead with our fundraising idea for the "Dog in a ute convoy world record attempt".
It'll be pretty simple.
We'll be assembling in Murrurundi showgrounds and doing the convoy around the backstreets at 2pm on November the 28th.
Hopefully we can beat the world record of 1527 utes (each with at least on dog in the back of them) - all puttering around town in convoy.
After the event we're hoping all watering holes and food joints in town to be full with men, woman, children, dogs ... and maybe a few goats ... all having a good and safe time.
Entry into the convoy is $20 a ute with all proceeds going towards the Murrurundi Primary School.
Christina Darlington the principal is hoping to get the kids at the school (who generally don't get outta town much) to go away on more holiday camps with the proceeds.
E.g Dubbo zoo, the snow (maybe not Alice Springs).
i.e Create some childhood memories with their friends which they will hopefully still talking about in Murravale etc...
Anyway, if you want to join in the fun of the convoy and invite any out of town friends up to Murrurundi - this would be a good weekend to do it.
Simply put $20 into the below bank account:
Murrurundi Parents and Citizen Association
BSB: 932 000
A/c: 300005138
And then email a screen shot, and your name to [email protected] and you'll be put on the entry list (and stop hassling you when we see you in Dooleys!)
We're going to push this onto people of the town first to get involved for the next two months before opening it up to to advertising in surrounding towns and ABC radio, Channel 7 in Tamworth etc (who all want to do stories on this).
Anyway, Murrurundi who is in!?
