Diver - Coral Collection
We are a family owned and operated company that specialises in the sustainable collection of live coral from the Great Barrier Reef. We are seeking suitably qualified and experienced Divers to join our Operations Team full time, at Yeppoon.
Principal duties of the role include;
Diving in and off-shore areas of the Great Barrier Reef.
Sustainable, hand collection of coral, invertebrates and fish species
Routine, preventative maintenance of dive regulators and lines, SSBA dive compressors and other dive related equipment
Boat maintenance and handling, on and off water
Record keeping
Weather and tide dependent, divers work on a Monday to Friday orientated roster with weekend work as required.
Essential qualifications and experience of suitable applicants include,
Current dive qualifications equivalent to either,
PADI/SSI VET Rescue Diver Certification, or
ADAS Part 2 Diver (Aquaculture SSBA to 30 meters) Certification.
Logged evidence of 100 hours plus dive time since Certification and within the last 6 months,
Unrestricted, Open C (car) licence.
Desirable qualifications and experience of suitable applicants include,
Domestic certificate of competency (Coxswain grade 1 or higher), marine engineering/ boat maintenance experience
Identification and or collection of coral, invertebrates or fish particular to Australian waters.
Marine Aquarium husbandry experience
The positions are full-time (contract basis) and offer a unique lifestyle opportunity for people that enjoy diving and the Great Barrier Reef. For applicants currently working (and delivering) in the industry, the above roles reflect a commission ranging from 7 to 14% of actual sales. Note that this is actual sales in USD and not a pre-agreed, lower price based on AUD. Three to five dives per day of 45 to 140 minutes duration are typically undertaken. Extended trips are supported by an 18-metre mother ship with all amenities.
Commencement dates are flexible with immediate start up options available.
