Introducing the artwork by Portarlington artist Jenny Macaulay that you'll soon be seeing on promotional materials for the 2026 NBFF in November and on the framed prints that will be given to finalists in the festival's Emerging Filmmaker and Emerging Documentary Filmmaker awards.

2026 is the second year that a Bellarine artist (Jenny McKinnis in 2025) has graciously provided the festival with artwork for us to use in our promotions.

Come along to the Springdale Neighbourhood Centre this Sunday at 1:00 PM to see 'Blood on the Crown' ("Storbju") which chronicles how the citizens of Malta fought for independence from Britain in 1919. A hugely important incident in Maltese history and for Australia's Maltese diaspora.

This is a free event.

Program includes:
- 'Big Johnny'- directed by Jeanie Kane- winner of the NBFF 2026 Emerging Filmmaker and People's Choice awards
- 'Run Like a Girl'- directed by Geelong Filmmaker Isabella Telfer- 2026 Emerging Filmmaker Award Finalist
- 'Whisper From the West'- directed by Geelong filmmaker Harley Biskup- 2026 Emerging Filmmaker Award Finalist

It's Movie Time at the Portarlington Neighbourhood House this Friday from 2-4PM. Come see the "Mother of Chooks" 🐔🐔 a doco about a woman and her trained chooks (yes, it's true!) and "The Mediator" the maybe/maybe not true story of Mick Gatto.
