At Planet Support Services, we know that everyone’s goals look different. For some people, it might be building confidence in the community, learning a new skill, gaining employment or becoming more independent. For others, it could simply be taking small steps each day towards something meaningful to them 💙

Goals are incredibly personal and individualised, and that’s why we take the time to support each person in a way that works best for them. We’re here to celebrate every achievement along the way, no matter how big or small 😊

😁 Smashing goals one step at a time 🌿

Over the past few months, one of our participants has been building up her confidence and capacity with a goal of taking on longer walks and nature hikes... And this weekend she absolutely nailed it!!! 😀🌱

It wasn't easy, but that made it even more worth it 🙌💙We’re so proud of the effort, determination and positivity she showed throughout the day to make it happen 😊

We love working towards goals at your own pace while still making memories and having fun along the way 😊🦋☀️

We’ve had the absolute pleasure of watching our participants learn, grow and thrive through lots of outlets and opportunities 😊 For this particular participant, music has been game-changing. We asked Them their thoughts about piano and how it's helped Them and here's what They told us:

“Playing the piano has given me something else to do other than sit in my room. Coming to piano lessons has been a great outlet for me, which has also encouraged me to explore other hobbies and interests. I am so grateful I am able to come and learn in my own way and not conform to others' standards of learning. I truly see this place as a safe space, and I am always excited to come and see my piano teacher, Jaylee!”

💙 You've probably seen this legend pop up on our page lately 👀

He’s been doing lots of fun things recently we’ve been wanting to show them off! Going out can be really hard for a lot of people, so we've been working on doing small steps each day until going out feels easier but also more enjoyable 😄

With routine and support, he’s been having fun going out and feeling happier and healthier! There's been lots of progress and lots of fun adventures through this and we love to see it! 🙌

NDIS capacity building, but make it a music session and explain why!? 🎛️ 🤔

Sure! Did you know that engaging in collaborative music production is well recognised as a practical way of building individual capacity across multiple areas? Structured creative activities like this support the development of communication, social interaction, confidence and task engagement all while also encouraging autonomy and shared responsibility within a group setting 🙏🙌

🎶👀Not your average Friday 👀 🎶

On Friday, some of our crew headed along to My Hero Disability Services K-pop event and had the best time. They got stuck into decorating toploaders, designing their own lightsticks, and jumped into a very competitive round of “save one, drop one”. 💙

The day was a whole lot of fun connecting with others and enjoying the music and creativity together! 😊

At Planet Support Services our support workers love sharing their passion for music as part of everyday supports 💙🤘🏻🥁

This might look like learning a new skill on an instrument, working towards playing your favourite song, putting on music you enjoy, singing along or just enjoying the moment together 🤗 All supports are guided by your goals and what you want to get out of your time!

Through these shared interests, we see confidence grow, connections build and people feel more comfortable expressing themselves 🙌🏻🎤🥁🎸

☀️Fresh air, sunshine and good company… a simple recipe for feeling good 💫

Getting outside doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes, it’s the simple things that make the biggest difference 💙🌿And with the right support by your side, getting out into the community can feel even more enjoyable and accessible 😊

Looking for ideas to get out into the fresh air? Here are a few to try:
🚶‍♂️Go for a walk at your local park
🌊 Sit by the water and enjoy some quiet time
☕️ Grab a coffee and take it outside
🛍️ Visit a local market or community space
☀️ Spend time in the sunshine with a friend

🐾💚 A paws-itively amazing new adventure 💚🐾

Over the past month, one of our participants kicked off her volunteering journey at Maryborough Animal Refuge and Pet Boarding, with her support worker by her side every step of the way 🐶✨

Trying something new can be a big step, but with the right support, it can also be really exciting! With encouragement, guidance and a friendly face there, she was able to settle in, build confidence and enjoy the experience (with plenty of furry cuddles along the way 🐱🐾)

Volunteering is such a fun and meaningful way to learn new skills, grow independence and connect with the community. And let’s be honest… spending time with animals makes it even better! 💚

We’re so proud to be part of this journey and can’t wait to see her continue to grow in this space 🙌✨
