This week has been incredibly difficult for us personally, but worse still has been watching client after client having to cancel events and tours, many of which we had a hand in promoting. When you're privy behind-the-scenes to just how much time, passion and yes money goes into these projects, it's truly heart breaking to see things unravel like they have. Tomorrow, Friday March 20th, BandCamp is waiving their commission on all sales, so it's a great day to support artists by buying their release or merch via that platform. Also head to offical band websites - super cool vinyl, merch and more await you there. If you had a ticket to a concert cancelled, consider spending your refund in their online store. You get the idea. As a starting point, find below a list of local Red Room clients who we know have taken a hit and could use a boost. But really, everyone in this industry is suffering right now. Please show them some love online in any way you can. If we have forgotten anyone, apologies - please msg us and we will add. And please share this post to help spread the word. Thanks everyone. Together with Sweet Mate Music and Oztix, Red Room is happy to get behind this massive two night event at Badlands Bar. Incredible line-ups for a vital cause. Let's sell 'em both out, Perth.

Badlands Bar has gathered some like-minded bands and artists to add to the already astounding Perth music community efforts to raise money for the victims of the tragic bushfires currently ravaging the country.

Next weekend, Friday 17th and Saturday 18th January, features a HUGE weekender of some of Perth’s finest, dishing it out for a great cause.

Tickets on sale now for $20, with all funds being donated 50/50 to WIRES and Salvation Army's Bushfire Appeals.

Badlands will also be contributing $1 from each drink sold from each of the events to the cause.

Fri Jan 17 catch The Kill Devil Hills, Abbe May (solo), Maurice Flavel's Intensive Care, The Psychotic Reactions, Noah Dillon and Siobhan Cotchin.

Today, Red Room turns 20. I had looked forward to marking this milestone but with all that is happening in Australia right now, celebrating anything feels trivial and weird. After getting to work with Paul Fraser’s classic At First Sight cover for a 2017 re-issue, this year I got to remix Ben Frichot’s Heads Up cover for an upcoming remastered edition, the first ever on vinyl. The Stems are playing shows around the country in October and November to support the release. Good times ahead. 💚💚💚

Exactly one year from now, January 2020 will mark the 20th birthday of Red Room. Things are planned - and we need your help with at least one of them. We’re putting together the definite list of every release we’ve helped create the cover artwork for over the past two decades. Whilst we can remember a lot of them, we can’t remember all of them! Time for another time capsule! In 1992 Joe Kapiteyn was asked by Altered State / Feel Presents to create merch artwork for the Hard-Ons + Henry Rollins Big Day Out shows He combined Raymond Ahn’s chest tatt with Henry Rollins (2.13.61) back tatt to create this classic one-of festival shirt design, thought lost to the laundry of time but here it is in all its well-worn glory.
