We talk about her music career including making it to the Top 50 on Australian Idol and how Ali connects to people through songwriting and live music. She is also half of the longest running radio duo's in Mandurah so we delve into radio life, interviews & behind the scenes.
Ali is a hard working Mum, with so much passion for our city.

Ok, so Rob Walker (Official) nominated me to to list my 10 albums of all time, so after thinking for ages, here we go!
10. Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill (after hearing the main single on the radio as a kid, I thought it would be good to get the album. Glad I did because I enjoyed the whole album including the hidden 2 tracks at the end)
9. Electric Light Orchestra - Time (an album I never thought would be near my top 10, but after being introduced to it by my dad and learning the concept of the album, I feel Jeff Lynne killed it. An album I could easily listen to from start to finish)
8. Traveling Wilburys - Volume 1 (another Jeff Lynne album, but this time with a supergroup! This makes my top 10 because my dad would play this day in and day out and I gained not only an appreciation for the group but also artists like Roy Orbison)
7. Meat Loaf - Bat Out of Hell (seems to be all artists or albums my dad likes so far, true... but this is also the first CD I ever payed for with my own money. It's also 7 songs I know every word too!)
6. Foo Fighters - One By One (I'd heard and loved 'Times Like These' but this album is what really got me into the Foo Fighters, with its huge guitars and that drum sound just dragged me in and I've been a fan ever since)
5. Staind - Break The Cycle (yes, I'm a radio guy, so yes I discovered Stained on Triple M Melbourne. 'It's Been Awhile' just grabbed me.. It's Rock but not like I heard much of before.. Acoustic rock, who would have thought?)
4. Metallica - ...And Justice For All (I had already been a fan of later Metallica and discovered this album when my cousin put a live DVD on of 'One'... That double kick and those guitars shedding, holly s**t, how good is that! I listened to the album and it became an instant favourite!)
3. Disturbed - The Sickness (I moved schools in year 10 where I met one of my best mates, he and his current friends loved heavier music and played me this song called 'Down With The Sickness'.. I loved everything about this song and the band, the production was insanely good and I loved the added elements added to make it more than just a rock band... This album also reminds me of school and my mates who I don't see often so is more sentimental to me.
2. Linkin Park - Hybrid Theory (an album I'm not sure how I came across, I remember I was in high school and loved 'One Step Closer' but how I came to have the album? I have no idea... to this day, I am not sick of this album and love every song on it. The production is insane and the hooks grab me each and every time!)
1. Metallica - Metallica AKA The Black Album (what can I say about this album? It has my favourite song of all time 'Nothing Else Matters' on it, 'Enter Sandman' and 'The Unforgiven' just to name a few. This is by far Metallica's best album in my opinion. The mix of acoustic and electric guitars as well as the light and shade of hard and soft rock. Also the idea of making the hook heavy the verse soft in 'The Unforgiven' is something not many bands had done at the time. I can and do still listen to this album often)
Thanks for reading my top 10 albums. I nominate Ali Hill, I expect hers to be much different to mine, but that's what it's all about :)
