We're holding auditions for four roles in the rerun of our 2025 children's fringe show: Goldilocks and The Three Wishes! For additional information, click here: https://drive.google.com/drive/u/2/folders/1CgBgcx_e2fc5bTdufIDybg-GltDnxHRf

- Where and when?
Auditions will be held on the 24th on UWA campus in the Sue Boyd room, between 9am-1pm. You'll be offered a timeslot by the directors after you fill out the form.

- How do I sign up?
Scan the QR code in the top right, or go to https://forms.gle/b4sZzJQV8ojFYFeG9 and fill out the form.

- Do I need to prepare anything?
Yes, please prepare a short (1-3 minute) monologue and familiarise yourself with the below excerpts. You will not be required to memorise the excerpts. You'll receive a link to further instructions and these excerpts when contacted after filling out the form.

- I can't make it then, can I audition online?
Yes! If you fill out the form and express the need to audition online, you'll be offered the chance to do so, and instructed on how.

- Do I need to be over 18 to participate?
Yes. While the content of this show is kid-friendly, we're a society of student volunteers who (frankly) aren't qualified to look after children.

In the far-off and hard-up town of Huffledump, the penniless mayor is trying to persuade his daughter Goldilocks to marry the snooty son of Duke Rumbleguts, the richest and rudest lord in the kingdom. Goldilocks, however, doesn't want to get married - she wants to become an adventurer, fighting monsters and protecting the townspeople with a sword and a smile.
After a small animal she rescues from a hunter turns out to be a powerful nature spirit, Goldilocks is given the chance to do exactly what she's always wanted. The spirit offers her three wishes as thanks for saving its life, so Goldilocks starts wishing all her problems away. However, she quickly learns that magical solutions are more complicated than they appear - especially if you're wishing for something too big or too small. Will Goldilocks be able to save her town and escape the Duke's clutches by making a wish that's just right?

Supernova Metalrose has been declared the Chosen One, destined to overthrow the evil Overlord that rules her Dystopian world with an iron fist. But when Nova, her best friend El and her two hot love interests fall into an alternate dimension, she will set out on a desperate quest to return home and reclaim her status as the main character. Nova must cross the four realms of YA Fiction, fighting zombies, werewolves and vampires, meeting h***y fanfic writers, and eventually, learning the truth about her world.

UWA Panto is currently on the lookout for people to join our production teams for our upcoming Fringe shows: Goldilocks and the Three Wishes, and Generic YA Dystopia. The shows will be in 2025 on 30th Jan to 3rd Feb.

You do not need experience for any of these roles!

A mean old ogre who’d rather be left alone to eat pizza pockets in peace and quiet, but whose ogre-sized heart makes it impossible for him to stand by when someone needs his help. The Captain is often rude and dismissive, especially to people who try to disrupt his comfortable life. He thinks his own jokes are hilarious. However, you know the old saying - ogres have layers! Shrek grows and softens over the course of the show, learning to recognise the value of friendship and coming out of his stinky shell.

Meet Prince Percival, played by Thomas Newman!

A traditional pantomime prince with his gung-ho enthusiasm for adventure and heroics dialed up to 47. Percival has lived an incredibly sheltered life and idealises the role of Starfleet Captain, having learned everything out of adventure books and Galactic Federation propaganda. Not tremendously intelligent, but his heart’s in the right place.

Meet officer Collins, played by the amazing Tarryn Allum.

A camel with everything on his back but that last straw, Collins is filling the roles of about a dozen different crew members - and Captain Shrek never even thanks him for it. Long-suffering and rarely even acknowledged, Collins is frustrated with his job and doesn’t like the way Shrek talks to him, but he knows that deep down, Shrek is a good person.

Meet S.C.O.T.I., Ship Computer's Operations Terminal Interface, played by the wonderful Lyly Twigger

A semi-sentient and incredibly sassy AI, this digital voice is the interface for Captain Shrek’s ship computer. S.C.O.T.I. is essentially a cuntier version of G.L.A.D.O.S., and doesn't s**t from anyone.

Deadpan and logical, Spock is the more reserved, stiller complement to antics of the other characters. He's ever so clever, and very dependable, having the answers to approximately 0.03% of all questions it is possible to ask.

Meet the Armadaleans, played by the Pantomime Society's very own Sanskar Koyade (Steve'O), Liam Mckay (Dave'O) and Libby Hart (Bee).

These three come from the far away planet of Armadale, which gets its name for no fu***ng reason. Dave'O can't park for s**t, Steve'O just found out he's the minister for foreign affairs, and Bee can't put an O at the end of his name without people assuming he stinks. How will our heroes fair in communicating with these strange, extraterrestrial creatures?

A truly maniacal, irredeemably evil pantomime villain, perpetually angry and thirsty for violence. He has a very short fuse, but is also easily flattered. The only thing Farquad loves more than themself is a good monologue.

A shameless donkey parody, Shonky is the engineer/mechanic sent along with Percival on his adventure in case anything goes wrong with the ship. Unfortunately, Shonky is an incompetent idiot who focuses entirely on the wrong details and talks nonsense almost constantly. Shonky is a chaotically energetic optimist and treats everyone they meet as a friend, even when social cues suggest the moment isn’t as congenial as Shonky thought it was.

Follow the delightfully dysfunctional crew of the USS Allstar in their journey across the Far Quadrant in STAR SHREK. Captain Shrek’s quiet, laid-back life is thrown out the air lock when he’s ordered to take a spoilt brat (and his rowdy retinue) on a five-day mission of discovery and adventure. Along their journey they will encounter strange lifeforms, dramatically brace for impact, and confront the vicious romulans and their new leader - Lord Farquad! The gang will have to battle it out against Farquad’s forces (and his mysterious benefactor) if they want to protect this strange new world and boldly go where no panto has gone before.
