And like that 4 years at The Bassendean Hotel comes to an end. A huge thank you to each and everyone of the acts and audience members who have joined us on stage or to watch. There is no words to describe my appreciation for you all.

Here is hoping for bigger and better things to come and a new venue starting next week at Bayswater Bowling and Recreation Club, see you there for new beginnings.

For the first evening out of lockdown, this was a perfect show. JOE WHITE: ETHIOPIAN & STILL NOT HUNGRY - CORONA TIME!
Miss Samia was superb, hilarious and definitely deserves her own show at fringe in the not too distant future hint hint nudge nudge😉 2022?
We were treated to a second extra act, Jason Wood, before Joe White and we were not disappointed,extremely funny.
Then came Joe White, he was amazing and kept the audience in stitches of laughter throughout, his poor mother having to raise Joe and his siblings on her own...she is my hero and deserves a statue or a city named after her.
Joe’s performance was excellent, definitely did not feel like an hour and from my point of view could have easily gone on for a second hour.Joe has great way of engaging the crowd, and is fantastic on the spot.
If you see one comedy performance for Fringe 2021, this would be the one.
Thanks Joe and your amazing team

However, with that said the new COVID rules apply, so drinks only to be served with meals (seated service) and masks to be worn when you are not on stage. Whose keen??

Best of Africa

Best of Africa is the brain child of the very talented Joe White.

Joe personally handpicked African comedians, who now call Australia home, come together and share with the audience how people from all parts of Africa got to call Australia home as well as the process and adventures of different culture adjustments.

Joe White did a fantastic job of MCing the night and keeping the flow going seamlessly from one act to the next like a well-rehearsed conductor, although I would not expect any less from a seasoned professional like Joe. It was interesting to delve into Joe’s upbringing, the many loving stories he shared with the audience about his mum made everyone in the Joe White therapy session feel like part of his family. The only question I had, as I’m sure most of the African audience that were there on the night had, was how did you survive the obvious number of beatings your mum educated you with?

Some of the highlights of the night, for me, was Leroy organizing a date during the show with one of the single ladies in the audience as well as watching every single person in the audience laughing, some in tears, at the acts on the night.

African pride is strong in this mix of acts and I can whole heartedly say that Mama Africa is proud of all her children on stage.
