Today is the final day of our Creative Australia MATCH Lab campaign.

Hear Her Now is Australia’s first chamber music festival programmed entirely with music by women. Across 12 days in October 2026, the festival will bring together 100 works by 100 women spanning more than 900 years of music.

The festival will feature professional and emerging musicians, community participation, four new commissions, free events, student performances, and concerts across multiple Perth venues.

As a volunteer-run registered charity, Mirabilis Collective relies on community support to make ambitious projects like this possible. Every donation helps us commission new work, support musicians, create opportunities for emerging artists, and share extraordinary music with audiences across Perth.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has donated, shared a post, attended an event, volunteered their time, or encouraged others to support the campaign. Your belief in this project is helping turn an idea into a festival.

Today is the final day to have your donation matched through Creative Australia’s highly competitive MATCH Lab program. While donations will continue to be welcomed beyond today, this is the most impactful day to give.

One of the most rewarding things about community music projects is that you rarely know where the impact ends.

Earlier this month, Her Sound, Her Story brought together women from across the Wheatbelt to sing, create and perform together. The project culminated in a concert that filled the hall with music, stories and connection.

Weeks later, we’re still seeing the ripple effects.

As we approach the final days of our Hear Her Now fundraising campaign, we’ve been reflecting on how much Mirabilis Collective has been shaped by the people we’ve met along the way — audience members, workshop participants, volunteers, musicians, donors and community partners.

Their belief in our work is helping us bring Hear Her Now to life:
Australia’s first chamber music festival programmed entirely with music by women.

There are just two days remaining to help us unlock up to $10,000 in matched funding through Creative Australia’s highly competitive MATCH Lab program.
If you’d like to support Hear Her Now, now is the most impactful time to give.

What a wonderful evening at 10x10 Perth.

Mirabilis Collective was delighted to provide live music as guests arrived for an event built around generosity, practical support and community impact.

Thank you to Kylie Kerin and the 10x10 Perth volunteer committee for inviting us, and for giving us the chance to share Hear Her Now with a room full of people backing meaningful change.

It was inspiring to hear from the organisations pitching on the night, and to see philanthropy in action: direct, personal and purposeful.

Thank you for having us.

We’re very proud to see Her Sound, Her Story featured in this important article by Regional Arts WA about the Outback Prac Program and the future of regional arts workforce development in Western Australia.

One of the great joys of this project was working alongside Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts Arts Management student Lily Probert during her placement with Arts Narrogin. Lily became an invaluable part of the team throughout the residency week — supporting artists, participants, logistics, and community engagement across the project.

Regional arts projects thrive because of collaboration, mentorship, and opportunities for emerging arts workers to gain real experience within communities.

Thank you to Regional Arts WA, Arts Narrogin, WAAPA, and Lily for being part of this experience.

Read the article here:

Arts and culture play a vital role in regional Western Australia; strengthening community connection, supporting local economies, and sustaining cultural knowledge across generations. Yet the workforce driving this impact remains largely invisible and is increasingly under strain. Regional arts orga...

We were incredibly honoured to be acknowledged this week in the Western Australian Legislative Council by the Hon Klasey Hirst MLC following our Her Sound, Her Story Wheatbelt project.

In her member statement, Klasey spoke about the impact of the project across Narrogin and Wagin, describing the concerts as “very special” and “the talk of the town that evening.”

Her Sound, Her Story brought together women from across the Wheatbelt to sing, create, and connect through music — featuring original songs co-created by local women alongside arrangements of works written by women.

To see this work recognised in Parliament is deeply meaningful for our ensemble and for the whole community that helped bring this project to life.

Thank you to everyone who sang, wrote, supported, hosted, encouraged, and believed in this project. ❤️

We’ve just got back from the most amazing week of presenting Her Sound, Her Story in the Wheatbelt

This project has been built on something simple and powerful: people coming together to make music. Over the past few months, we have worked alongside women from across the Wheatbelt in a series of workshops, rehearsals, and conversations, shaping songs that reflect lived experience, place, and voice.
Seven songs were written by women who call the Wheatbelt home.
Each song carries something distinct: a memory, a moment of strength, a quiet truth. Brought together, they form a collective voice that speaks with honesty, courage, and care.
Singing together changes something. It builds confidence. It creates connection. It reminds us that our voices matter, individually and together. This project has been about that shared act of making: learning from one another, supporting one another, and creating something that none of us could make alone.
It has been our pleasure and privilege to work alongside these musicians, and to help bring their work to life in this way.

My sincere thanks to these amazing people:
- thank you for working with all of our songwriters to craft arrangements that showcased everyone in such a beautiful way.
Tresna and - thank you for your warmth with every participant and for your wonderfully musical playing.
- thank you for being the superstar you are, navigating so many vocal roles in this project and providing extraordinary mentorship to our soloists, choir and vocal ensemble. And for your gorgeous humour.

Brad - thank you for believing in this project and for working so hard to bring it to life. You are a rockstar as are your team at
Thank you also to Kimberly, Lily, Leith, Kevin, Fi and Shane, , , and to every person who sang and laughed along the way with us.

Thank you to especially for your funding for this project.

This song is Terania Tree by Jan Smith, remembering the peaceful protests to prevent logging in Terania Creek, NSW.
