Some sponsors write a cheque. This one rolled up their sleeves. Thank you to our Platinum Sponsor, Mind For Me — who backed the Family Fun Precinct on Saturday, the wooden games area and the free face painting where a good chunk of the under-10s happily spent their whole afternoon.

Mind For Me is local through and through — a community platform born right here in 4075, built on a simple idea: neighbours helping neighbours. You give a hand when you can, you get one when you need it. And if you stop and think about it, that's exactly what a community festival is. A whole suburb turning up, pitching in, and looking after each other for a day — the same thing Mind For Me is quietly building every other day of the year. Same heart, different format.

They didn't just sponsor from the sidelines, either. David from Mind For Me joined our volunteer committee this year and put in the sweat equity — real hours, real work, helping build the day from the inside. That's the kind of backing that means the most: not just funding the community, but being in it.
So if Saturday reminded you how good it feels to be part of something local — that's the whole Mind For Me idea. Take a look at what they're building at mindforme.com, and bring a bit of that village spirit into your own street. The festival is one day. Looking out for each other can be every day.

Thank you, Mind For Me — and thank you, David. See you next year. ❤️

When the sky lit up on Saturday night, you had The Lion Richlands to thank for it.

As one of our Platinum Sponsors, The Lion backed this year's fireworks finale — the moment the whole festival had been building towards all afternoon. A thousand faces tilted up at the same sky, kids on shoulders, the perfect way to end the day. That was them.

And this isn't a one-off. The Lion Richlands has supported the Oxley Community Festival across multiple years, and we know we're just one of many community events around the western suburbs they quietly get behind. That kind of steady, year-after-year backing of local life doesn't get talked about enough, so we're saying it loud: thank you.

We think so much of partners like The Lion that we recently sat down with them to get some advice on redesigning our whole sponsorship program — making sure the businesses who back our community get even more out of standing alongside it. That's the type of organisation they are, not just giving money but willing to invest time and experience in helping a small committee like ours grow and develop.

In the meantime, here's the easy part: The Lion Richlands is a cracking spot for a feed, a drink, or a night out close to home. If you enjoyed Saturday, swing by, become a member, and say thanks in person. Backing the businesses that back us is how this whole thing keeps running.

Thank you, Lion Richlands. See you next year. ❤️

**OUR SINCERE THANKS TO BELLBOWRIE MECHANICAL**

To Bellbowrie Mechanical at Seventeen Mile Rocks — our naming rights sponsor — thank you. Not the quick kind. The real kind, from a whole community.

You've backed this festival year after year, long enough that your support has become part of the furniture of the day.

And on Saturday, you could see it everywhere. Your marquees out across the green. Your name on the banners. And the part that got us, quietly — the next generation of festival volunteers, our young ones, running the day in Bellbowrie shirts. Kids growing up in Oxley, learning what it means to show up for your own community, wearing the name of a local family business that taught them how it's done by example.

That's what this is really about. Chris and David grew up here — through Nixon Park, past the magpies, goals for Oxley United. Now they put it back, year after year, so the next lot of Oxley kids get the same childhood Saturdays they did. That's not sponsorship. That's belonging.

So here's the one thing we'll ask of everyone who had a free afternoon on Saturday: when your car needs a service, a repair, or just an honest look-over — take it to Bellbowrie Mechanical at Seventeen Mile Rocks. A family-run workshop since 1985, built on honest advice and quality work. They light up our sky and dress our volunteers — the least our community can do is keep their workshop busy.

Find them, call them, book in, and tell them the festival sent you. That's how a community looks after the people who look after it.

Thank you, Bellbowrie. From all of us. See you next year. ❤️

Another Oxley Community Festival done. Another year in which we forgot to pause and take photos 😒 We would love your help. If you took some photo or video on Saturday and are happy to share for our future use we would appreciate you adding in the comments or sending it via messenger. In particular we would love photos of the disco, fireworks, rides, petting zoo or family fun area.

We are thrilled to confirm that the Oxley Community Festival 2026 will still take place tomorrow thanks to the beautiful sunshine today. We will still have free rides, free facepainting, free family fun zone and disco, free wooden toys, free petting zoo and more! Unfortunately we won't be able to bring in the new Super Sizzler as the council and ride operator are not confident it isn't so big it will damage the park post rain. See you tomorrow!
