POP Art Collective Our Aim is to support ORAF in sustainably growing its presence, membership & funding by holding a series of pop up arts events capturing the imagination

Whats this page all about? We see our role as Young Ambassadors for the Regional Arts Foundation to be that of a group-not necessarily/only of youth, but a group able to attract the energy of youth and direct this into membership of the Orange Regional Arts Foundation, by providing art inspired events in Orange. We are passionate about new, emerging, youth art. We are all keen to create a brand th

at will harness the street culture with street art, performance art, contemporary dance, photography, video installation and all the bits in between. The first of these events will be held in Orange on the 28th & 29th of March 2014. The launch is on the Friday night is an invitational event and will be the opportunity to invite the community to participate in an evening of social interaction around an emerging, experimental, vibrant and contemporary art scene. We have sourced artists to perform and display their work during this launch, which will ‘pop-up’ in a fantastic building kindly on loan to us for the weekend. Saturday the 29th March will be a list of programmed events running through the day, of contemporary performance, music ( acoustic improvisation) and street art. There will also be local artists and photographers displaying their work as well as sculpture and a coffee shop. We have invited the Orange Regional Gallery to host their Art Lates event on the Saturday evening. Pop Art Collective hope to create 2-3 events through the year that will start an understanding and appreciation of ORAF and all its amazing work for all those that have not heard about it yet. We are very excited. x

This amazing artist had his humble beginnings in an office in Sydney where he would work till all hours cutting denim and experimenting.

We love collaborating with other art groups and Colour City Creatives will be at the Silent Movies and Orange Laneways event displaying a few of the pieces from this successful exhibition. Come and take a look from 6pm on Saturday evening.

Today the feature artist from the Mixed Dozen Portrait Exhibition is me, Jolanta Nejman
The choice of technique was purposeful, the carving of the lino block representing the subjects carving of the orchard and vine plantings in the landscape. The paper was stained with the wines produced at the vineyard, each print is a different colour, all add greater depth to the work and the grouping of 4 prints representing not only the seasons but the vintages and varieties that wine production is.
Lino block carving is a new adventure for me and I love it. I did have to bring bandaids to my studio, but fortunately did not lose any fingers :)
