Okay so we’ve noticed the typo on the first page at the last minute and decided to leave it because it’s just Sacral tradition to have typos in all of our posts 😂 (at least you know they’re made with love by Courtney and not by AI!)

But anyway! We’re having an hours update from August (not Aigust 🙃)

We’ve made this decision surrounding the work life balance of our staff, as well as the overall sustainability of Sacral.
We have also expanded into a third late night per week in addition to all day Saturdays, to continue to create more convenience for our clients, because at the end of the day, it’s all for you honeys 💖

(And we’re closing Sundays so Courtney gets a day off, we appreciate you all telling her to bloody chill out, she doesn’t listen to us 🤷‍♀️)

We are also so excited to acknowledge that a year and a half in to Big Sacral, we now have the fullest and most experienced team we’ve had! 🎉
3 tattoo artists, 2 hairstylists, 2 body piercers, and our first Industry experienced jewellery specialist and curator, what a blessing! We are feeling extremely grateful and honoured to be sharing our vision with such a perfect team of talented, fun, and welcoming people. Big thank you to our Sacral community for welcoming them with open arms, most of our clients have been around for years before the staff, so its been really special to take you all on this journey with me!

Now our plan is to ensure the team all feel supported, satisfied and with full schedules because we want to keep them! 🥰 so pls help us help them and share your reviews and recommendations, tell your friends, like our posts, or even book in for that new self expression, your support of us and our new staff/services goes a long way, and we are just so excited to be entering this next chapter with you all! 🥰🥳

🖤 JEM’S PIERCING🖤

Our trainee piercer Jem has been expanding her piercing skills lately! Here’s a drop of earlobe, helix, and flat piercing of hers! 🥰

Did you know that there is no formal qualification for body piercing, but to become to best at performing this skill you really need to do a full apprenticeship, that is years in length, under the best in the industry.

Often we see piercing learnt through short courses, quick in house training by someone who is also of a low standard, or even a 30min video. This is always disappointing and worrying, not just for the client, but for the poor piercer who was promised their dream job and handed pebbles mixed with high stress and no support instead.

We’ve labelled Jem a ‘trainee’ rather than an ‘apprentice’ as Jem has actually had 5 years of prior piercing experience before Sacral. Like the beginning of most piercer careers sadly (including my own) Jem’s experience wasn’t in spaces of the same Sacral standards, so we have started her from closer to the beginning, to ensure she can move forward with confidence and quality. Like myself, most of us spend YEARS undoing bad habits and furthering our education to become better. You’d be surprised to understand the extreme rise in costs to deliver the piercing service when you deliver a higher quality, meaning a higher cost of service and a lower profit margin, but we do this because we value your bodies and your safety, more than our pockets.
We are so proud of Jem for welcoming new understanding and knowledge with open arms. (She’s killin it!)

So, If you’d like a quality piercing at a lower price, Jem’s your gal! You can book with her for lobe, helix, and flat piercings each Thursday from 10-2! Bookings can be made online, in store, or over the phone under ‘trainee piercing’.

Thank you so much for all of the support and recommendations we’ve received, always, but especially lately. It doesn’t go unnoticed. This business owning thing is wild, risky, and you don’t get two go’s at it! Seeing the community support now more than ever has been a huge relief, and we are incredibly grateful 🥹 you guys rock💘

🎈🎉 Happy Birthday to our OG alt hairstylist Tash!! 🎉
Yesterday we celebrated Tash’s birthday by all dressing up as her (she loves a scarf and a nanna knit!)
Thank you so much for helping us set up our alt hair space ‘The Serotonin Salon’ from the very beginning, and for bringing your kind, calm, inclusive energy to our studio. You’ve welcomed to many amazing clients with open arms and helped us grow our amazing community we always dreamt of and we are so grateful!
