We’re a laid-back local watering-hole and boutique music venue with a small friendly team offering two or three shifts a week spread over weekend and weekday nights with the possibility to expand your role over time. OUR AFLW TIPPING RESULTS ARE IN!!!
Congratulations to Chugga who came out a clear winner and could probably do with the dough after breaking his collarbone a few weeks back. Second place went to the Tav's own boss man Marki - he broke from the pack in the second to last week with a game-changing perfect round. And in another coup for the Tav, bartender Ro couldn't pick a winner but tipped the full fixture to take home the wooden spoon. Thanks to all who took part. Stay tuned to hear about what we'll be doing for the Grand Final and come in from tomorrow to sign up to our tipping comp for the men's game when we'll be tipping the crow-eaters league - the SANFL!

Yorkshire based George Boomsma has been honing his live performances for over a decade and last weekend he knocked the socks off folks at Port Fairy.
The New Melbourne Folk Club were due to host him tomorrow at the Brunswick Ballroom but "you know what" got in the way so we're stepping up to help out! There's limited seating and presale tickets available so get in early.

Music makes us happy too, which is why it's sad that someone left this on the 86 tram this arvo. Does anyone know the owner? We also found a ring in the beergarden today after the amazing Georgia Knight & Roller One show yesterday.... If you can describe the ring or the contents of the purse they're yours. If you collect them tonight after 8pm you'll also get to "Enjoy Your Stay" and hear Snowy's gig with Elsie's Angels. Now that'd make anyone happy!

Trams first started running to Westgarth in 1890 when George Clauscen, a German immigrant and former mayor of Fitzroy, founded the Clifton Hill to Northcote & Preston Tram Co. In 1940 the old cable lines were replaced for a while by double-decker buses but in 1956 trams made a comeback! The Melbourne & Metropolitan Tramways Board began running electric models on what was then called Route 88, renamed 87 in '85 and finally 86 in '87. Now they run late all week and all night on weekends, so why worry, just jump on the 86 and jump off at stop 27 near Westgarth Cinema, or jump off at stop 28 and treat yourself to a downhill stroll and one of Melbourne's best views.
