Australian Belly Dance Convention was the bestest weekend for connecting and empowering each other as women and dance colleagues. How lovely it was just to have real conversations about where we’re all at in life. There was a lot of dancing and some partying. I cannot wait for next year where ever we are all travelling. Thank you again for inviting me to come perform and facilitate. My heart is so happy from the feedback we had today in being able to do little things to help support other dancers with their practice.

The Australian Belly Dance Convention has a scholarship program and Bellydancers of Australia is one of the sponsors. I was very proud to support scholarship recipient Kate to travel to Perth to enjoy all the goodness of the Convention. As well as participating in many sessions, Kate performed on the open stage and in the floorshow with Shimmy Mob, representing Team Newcastle where she is Team Leader. Once Kate is home and has had time to process, she will share with us all some of her thoughts about the experience 🤔
