What a magic experience seeing these wild sea creatures in their natural habitat in Tasmania :)

Camera used is the Blackmagic Pocket 4K shot at 4K then scaled/recomposed, 24fps, BRAW 12:1 handheld with Canon 24-105L at F4 and Metabones Speedbooster XL, graded in Davinci Resolve 16

The beautiful Red Panda captured with Black Magic Pocket 4K, Canon 24-105 F4 at 105mm, 60fps at 4K resolution. Shot handheld then stabilised, zoomed, cropped to get a composition for 1080p export. Really enjoying using this camera and the possibility’s of 4K high-speed capture then re-framing in post with a high quality output 😀

Movie VFX Breakdown #2
Continuing with my movie VFX breakdowns series, here is another shot from David Fincher’s "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". This original scene was filmed with a motion-controlled Techo Crane with the laptop displaying a bright green screen. I then performed the following: 3D Camera Tracking, Screen Replacement, Foreground Masking (using the Green Screen). I'm guessing the original VFX team would of taken a similar approach, in order to achieve the plot point in the story. Tony

Movie VFX Breakdown #1
From the excellent movie by David Fincher "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo". This original VFX shot was filmed from a moving car which I have then stabilised, levelled, match-moved & graded to replicated their final look and feel. This shows the meticulous attention to detail that the director and his effects team put into making this film, which usually go unnoticed.
