Do love a great Beach? This is Queensland’s Sunshine Beach, white sand, glistening aqua waters, it’s truly stunning. It became the obvious subject choice for a painting to capture its beauty and feeling of wonder. Taking on this personal challenge required numerous visits to photograph, sketch taking into consideration sun pattern, tides and the ideal angle. Welcome to my world. Close up photos of myself are usually avoided. However, I welcome my audience to see my artwork ‘close up and personal’ because that seems like a worthwhile endeavour.
My artwork is aimed to uplift and bring a sense of joy; that’s the overall criteria. Life has its challenges and through my own experiences I decided to leave a trail of happiness along my path. A visual holiday from the days realities, where for even a moment you are transported into something colourful and beautiful. There are those who write books, there are others who write music and my choice of communication is the visual arts. Art takes me into numerous directions, quite frankly I can’t keep up with my ideas. I choose the subject matter and technique that will best suit my intentions to spread a positive message. The message is hidden in ‘the pages’ of layered colour, it’s hidden between ‘the notes’ pitched within the techniques. It’s hidden there, to help create an emotional response. That’s the secret to the arts true nature.
