🤍 Best of luck to our YGP Sydney solo performers!
This week, our Nova City Ballet dancers will take to the stage at Youth Grand Prix Sydney, representing our school with the dedication, artistry and passion they bring to every class.
Being part of this event is a wonderful opportunity to perform, learn and grow alongside talented dancers from across the country. We are so proud of the commitment and hard work each student has shown throughout their preparation.
We wish every dancer the very best for the week ahead. Dance with confidence, enjoy every moment and make memories that will last a lifetime. Your Nova family will be cheering you on every step of the way. 💙

🎬 Inside the Studio | Miss Emma

Back in Week 3, during our RAD examination period, we followed Miss Emma as she led a warm-up with our Intermediate Foundation students. 🤍

Examination preparation is about so much more than learning the syllabus. From the moment students arrive, every warm-up is carefully planned to prepare both the body and mind for a successful class or examination.
Miss Emma’s thoughtful approach helps dancers feel confident, focused and ready to perform at their best, while reinforcing the strong technical foundations and artistry that are at the heart of the RAD syllabus.
It’s this level of care and attention to detail that ensures our students are supported every step of the way throughout their examination journey.

🏆 Abermain Eisteddfod 2026 🏆
What an incredible weekend for Team Nova! 🤍
We are so proud of every dancer who took to the stage at the Abermain Eisteddfod. From our youngest performers to our senior students, each dancer represented Nova City Ballet with confidence, professionalism and heart. Watching our students support one another, celebrate each other’s successes and continue to grow as performers is what makes weekends like these so special.

✨Our 2026 Graduates! ✨
Lewis, Ella and Isla spoke with us as they prepare to begin the next chapter of their dance journeys overseas. 🤍
Together, they reflect on how they first fell in love with dance, the impact their training at Nova City Ballet has had on them, what they’re most excited for overseas, and what they’ll miss most about calling Nova home.

We are incredibly proud of everything these three dancers have achieved and can’t wait to watch them continue to grow as they take this exciting next step.

A little reminder for all our Nova dads!
Father’s Day Open Day is nearly here, and we can’t wait to welcome our fathers, grandfathers and father figures into the studio.
This is your chance to experience a class through your dancer’s eyes, join in the fun and make memories they’ll cherish for years to come. No dance experience is needed - just bring your biggest smile and be ready to have a go!

World Ballet Crown Success 💙
What an incredible achievement for Imogen Mejia at the World Ballet Crown! 🌍🩰
After progressing through two highly competitive qualifying rounds, Imogen earned her place among the Top 30 finalists from around the world.
Throughout an inspiring week of performances, Imogen was recognised with several outstanding honours:
• 💎 Diamond Award for Refined Artistry, Expression, Musicality, Interpretation and Stage Presence
• 🇳🇿 Dancer Development Award from FORME New Zealand
• 🇺🇸 A Scholarship to Oklahoma City Ballet Summer School
These awards are a testament to Imogen’s unwavering dedication, artistry and passion for her craft. We are incredibly proud to see her talent recognised on the international stage and cannot wait to see where this journey takes her next.

This Father’s Day, we’re inviting all of our Nova fathers, grandfathers, father figures and special people to step into the studio and experience the magic alongside their dancer. 🤍
On Saturday 5 September, all Nova City Ballet classes (excluding Performance Groups) will be open for parent participation.
Whether you’ve danced before or have two left feet, we’d love to see you join in and make some special memories together.
These classes are always a highlight of the year, and we can’t wait to welcome our Nova families into the studio.

🎬 Inside the Studio | Miss Lillia
At Nova, we’re passionate about developing well-rounded dancers, and that means looking beyond technique alone.
This week, Miss Lillia took our Pre-Professional students through targeted glute and hamstring strengthening exercises, drawing on her expertise as a qualified Pilates instructor. 💪🏻
She also led an important discussion on recovery, encouraging students to think about how they cool down after training and why it plays such a vital role in performance, injury prevention, and longevity.
It’s these extra moments of education that help our dancers train smarter, recover better, and continue striving for excellence every day.
