LISTEN UP! Art isn’t just art… it’s the story behind it… & I was lucky enough to capture this moment ✨

It’s the creator, the imagination, the layers of thought and feeling poured into every brushstroke… we’re simply the observer.

When I ask children about their work and they light up as they tell their story… it fills my cup every single time. It’s a reminder that imagination is alive, powerful and something the world can never take away!

This little artist spent a solid hour and a half creating, layering, storytelling and fully immersing herself in the process… she was so proud & left FULL of radiance!

This is what The Wild Easel is all about.
This is why I do what I do.
People want to be heard, seen & valued ~ my workshops provide just that.
And I’m so incredibly grateful 🤍

We are so excited to be running TWO creative workshops these school holidays in support of Youth Week! 🎨

🗓 Thursday 9 April – Leeton Library
🗓 Friday 10 April – Whitton Hall

These workshops are all about empowering young people to dream big, take creative risks, and bring their ideas to life through art. It’s a space to express, explore, and celebrate individuality in a supportive and inspiring environment.

There’s something so magical about this kind of mess 🎨

To some, it might look chaotic… overwhelming… even a little triggering.
But to me? It’s pure creativity in motion.

This is what it looks like when children feel safe enough to be their authentic selves.
To explore. To express. To let go. Go a little wild.

Because here’s the truth — messy, hands-on play isn’t just fun… it’s powerful.
Research shows that when children are given the freedom to splash, smear, swirl and create:

✨ They build brain connections that support creativity, problem-solving and language
✨ They regulate emotions and express big feelings in a safe way
✨ They develop confidence through exploration and independence
✨ They strengthen fine motor skills and coordination
✨ They engage their senses, which is critical for learning and development 

In these moments, they’re not “just making a mess”…
They’re learning, growing, discovering and becoming.

And the best part…
It’s just paint.
It washes away.

But the confidence, joy and self-expression they’re building?
That stays. 💛

Paint Your Path – Year of the Fire Horse
February 28 • 6pm

We’ve finally moved through the Year of the Snake — the shedding, the uncomfortable layers, the letting go — and now we step into something new.
The Year of the Fire Horse brings movement, empowerment and the energy to create life on your own terms.

This workshop is all about that shift.

We’ll talk about intention setting for the year ahead, what the Fire Horse represents, and how to channel that energy into your creativity.
And just so you know — you don’t have to paint a horse.

At The Wild Easel, creativity is wide open.
You’ll have loads of inspiration, gentle guidance and conversation that helps you land on what you want your piece to represent.
Your masterpiece will be based on whatever aligns with you — colour, movement, symbolism, emotion, or your own interpretation of the Fire Horse.

The atmosphere is calm, relaxed and welcoming.
This session is open to anyone 17 and over, and it’s a beautiful space to sit, talk, paint and walk away feeling grounded, comforted and clear.

What a wild, magnetic and hilariously fun session — the wigs were on, the dresses were hot 🔥, the music was up and everyone was dancing, laughing and getting creative …. but with a cheeky twist. 😉

Let’s just say today’s “creative masterpieces” proved that they truly do come in all shapes and sizes. 🍆😂
