A few months ago, I was considering unpicking my childhood teddy bear. Not because he was damaged. Not because I didn’t want him anymore. But because I wanted to recreate him for my daughter. That was a tough process.
But the problem was that I’d never seen another one or a pattern in over 40 years.
Then, while supporting an NDIS participant during his volunteer shift at an op shop, (yes, I have two jobs 😅) I spotted the bear on the right sitting on a shelf.
The exact same bear! 🤯
After 40 years, I’d finally found his twin. So now I don’t have to take apart “Grumpy” to make one for my daughter. And somehow that feels pretty special.
Looking at them side by side, it’s amazing how much a lifetime of being loved can change a teddy bear. 🧸
