What a wonderful world…💜

We’re in the paper… again (and this one feels extra special).

Our beautiful Olinda Sings has been featured, and honestly… it captures exactly what this group is about. This is a singing group that’s not about perfection, without auditions or pressure.
It's just voices coming together and finding each other in the music.

We are proud that Olinda Sings has a home at the Olinda Community House. This matters so much because this is what we’re building here. The house isn't just about programs or classes, but spaces where people feel part of something.

The article talks about connection, about people making time for something that fills them up, even in the middle of busy lives. It calls the group magical and honestly… that’s exactly right.

It is with enormous sadness that we announce the passing of our dear choir member and close friend through thick and thin, the ever-beautiful Rita Latham.
A warm voice of reason in a fast-paced world, a sharer of stories simple or boldly barely believable. A raconteur, a sympathetic listener with a warm and rich gravelly speaking and singing voice that will be sorely missed indeed.

You led by example, dear Rita and are woven into the fabric of our community here in the forest.

Knox Council invites people who love to sing to register their interest in joining a vocal ensemble to perform at Knox Carols on the big stage.

🎶 The group will be led by local conductor and composer, Lady Shaula, across four fun musical evenings of rehearsals, and with a grand performance at Knox Carols on Saturday 13 December.

The group is open to everyone aged 16 and over, no singing experience required!

In a sudden change of play, Olinda Choir IS on this term.

Now, to be sure - there IS music, but it’s equally if not more about the mulled wine, killer supper, laughter and bon homie that comes after it - and some people just arrive to socialize after the music and we totally get that too.

So, we’ll be there - next Tuesday and all the Tuesday evenings of this term.

Dress code is ‘Pyjamas to Tiaras’ and trust me, people take up both options and everything in between.

Come for a laugh - goodness knows we all need it.

It’s the very exciting TERM FOUR!!
Christmas concerts and more.

We welcome all newcomers to join us for the performance season BUT you must join before November 1st (no asking to learn all the arrangements on December 10th, ok?).

Here we are last year at Ferny Creek.
We become The Lyrebird Singers for Christmas gigs - joining with other singers and other choirs.
We’d LOVE to have you just for Christmas if nothing else 😁

The year finishes with the glorious Kalorama Carols on Christmas Eve.
