The Merton Show 'n' Shine started as a way to celebrate the Merton Memorial Hall turning 100! Our theme was "Through the Ages" and the vehicle display was meant to be half a dozen cars or so from different eras. We ended up with over 80 vehicles, sponsorship and a community excited to share what was in their sheds. There is nothing better than watching the much loved cars, motorbikes, trucks, trac
tors and more rolling in when the gates open. Merton is a very small community but we have a lot on offer throughout the year at the Recreation Reserve - our Cricket Club bats above its class, the New Years Day Picnic Races are an awesome day out and the Merton Campdraft hold their annual weekend in April. Recently the Committee of Management has invested in more facilities for the younger crowd...playground, basketball and skate park. YOUR SUPPORT MAKES AN IMPACT: Money raised from the Merton Show 'n' Shine is used to support local families in need (care packages, support around the home or farm etc) and to maintain or build facilities that support the outdoor activities / venues available for families and children in the district (eg: payment of sporting memberships, upgrade sporting facilities, upgrade common areas) and visitors to the region.
